I went here on a Field trip with Dearborn Schools. It was a learning experience for the students. It remanded me of a very smaller version of what the Greenfield Village offers. They have a home set up of what it looked like many many years ago and it gave the students a first hand view of things. They even got to learn about the different types of crops they grew as well as how to make butter! The final moment of the trip was a little history on a variety of artifact they had in the basement of the museum. Read moreThe Brady Street campus consists of the McFadden Ross House, an 1839 building renovated into a house in the 1880s and the 1832 Richard Gardner house, a pioneer homestead. The Commandants Quarters, an 1834 Dearborn Arsenal building is 2 blocks down the road. Tours are available of each building. The McFadden Ross house houses the research archives, a meeting room, some small changing exhibit spaces, the gift shop and a childrens play area. It is actually a fairly small building with various artifacts of limited interest. Has a reasonably sized parking lot which can fill up quickly do to other events in the area. It is tucked back up off the road down some side streets so it's a little difficult to find if you don't know where it's at.
