Very nice looking restaurant! Unfortunately that’s about all they can offer. We ordered several appetizers and a few main dishes. One of the appetizers never came, not sure if they forgot or just decided we didn’t need it. They brought us 3 pieces of bread for Hummus as an appetizers for a table of 5. Then when our soup came it was cold and had to be sent back. Came back cold again. I was then informed they weren’t going to make my dish because it was busy. I asked for the check. They came back 20 minutes later and Thanked me for my patience. I asked when I would get the check they then told me my food would be out in about 10 minutes later. I informed couldn’t promise I would be there in 10 minutes. 15 minutes later the food showed up and was cold and what I would describe as average at best. Also my dish never came. When I asked what happened they said we wish you would have ordered something else. ???? So I was basically held hostage to pay for cold food that was average. Very disappointing
Update, Upon leaving the restaurant I stopped to mention my disappointment to the Manager and he and the assistant manger went out of their way to express how sorry they were snd wanted to make things right. They followed me almost back to the parking garage. After alot of back and forth I agreed to give it another shot. First they were very persistent. Even the Head chef came out and begged for another shot to make it right. I honestly just was interested in letting them know they had room for improvement. Wasn’t looking for any special treatment or complimentary meals but they insisted. When we came back the service was much improved and the food was clearly better and more importantly hot. I would definitely come back here especially for brunch/desert and coffee/tea. I’m glad to see there are still owners who care about there customers and want nothing more than to see this place thrive and succeed. That being said.. I would probably wait until after Ramadan to visit again. Extremely busy and I think they are still figuring things out. I have no doubt anyone will find something on the menu they like. Thank you Mohamed for taking such good care of me and my family. Our waiter Abbas...
Read moreWe made the mistake of choosing Turkish Village in Dearborn for our Eid celebration dinner this year, and it was nothing short of a disaster. What should have been a joyful, memorable evening turned into a frustrating, embarrassing experience that we wouldn't wish on anyone.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear the restaurant was completely overwhelmed and unprepared to handle the Eid crowd. But instead of limiting reservations or preparing adequately, they chose to pack the place full — likely out of sheer greed — with no regard for quality of service, customer experience, or basic hospitality.
We sat for over an hour without receiving any food. Meanwhile, we watched servers deliver plates only to select people at each table, as if they were rationing out meals in some kind of bizarre social experiment. Families were sitting awkwardly as one person would get a plate, while everyone else sat empty-handed, waiting. No explanation. No apologies.
When our food finally came, it was stone cold and not even what we ordered. At that point, it was clear that the kitchen and the servers had completely lost control. We tried to speak to our server, who acted like we owed him something — dismissive, cold, and clearly annoyed that we even dared to ask about the delay. No apology. No effort to correct the order. Just a shrug and a walk-away.
If you can’t handle a holiday crowd, then don’t take reservations or scale back operations. To open your doors and take people’s money knowing full well you’re going to deliver chaos is shameless and disrespectful. The entire night felt like a cash grab — minimal effort, maximum charges, and zero care for the actual customer experience.
We strongly advise anyone considering Turkish Village to look elsewhere. West Dearborn is full of amazing, well-run, authentic Middle Eastern and Mediterranean restaurants that actually know how to treat their guests with respect and hospitality — two things this place clearly lacks.
Turkish Village is a gimmick — an overpriced, overrated disaster waiting to happen. Skip it. Celebrate your special moments somewhere that deserves your...
Read moreI was truly astonished by the atmosphere. The decor is so lovely and brought back vibes from when I used to live in Syria.
Despite that, I MUST give the rating 1 out of 5 for numerous reasons.
Firstly: The waiter was a kind person, however, he took our order without writing anything we told him on a paper. That resulted in him forgetting some of our order(s). We had to remind him a few times. (NOTE TO THE OWNER: Please provide pen and note pads for your staff)
Secondly: We ordered the family meat platter for 4-6. The waiter said it comes with 10 shish kabobs but it came with 6. I'm not sure if he didn't know how many but don't say something you're not sure of. The issue isn't how many skewers came, the main concern was how cold and dry the food was. It was not fresh at all and the shawarma was like gyro meat not actual shawarma.
Thirdly: Please educate your waiters on the menu. I felt bad that the waiter didn't know the menu. We ordered a salad and neither did the waiter nor us knew that it was another version of Baba ganouch.
Lastly: Aside from the bill being HELLA expensive for flavorless food. There was a damn hair in our cheese roll. Yes a hair! The waiter said he would exchange it but I said no because I felt super gross about it and wanted him to be careful with our meat. He charged us for the egg rolls (4 pieces for $12) but thankfully did remove it. I know these things happen but restaurants need to be careful because I will definitely not be returning to any place that serves cheesy hair bites.
Positive Rating: Only my mango juice was good. Oh and the bread...
