This was my first time at this dealership and likely my last. After speaking with various salespeople, i specifically drove to this dealership which was 45 minutes from my house. I could have gone back to my previous dealership in Troy to return my lease and get a new vehicle, or 3 other dealerships closer to where I live and work.
I was assured the payment on my new vehicle, with the same miles/months would be right in line with my current payment of 447/month. I called as I was leaving my house and was told the keys were being pulled for my spefic Blazer. I arrived just after 1030 and the process began just as expected. I was offered a coffee and we went over the details for exactly what I was looking for in the lease. Also getting my current lease ready to turn in and reviewed for damage. This took about an hour which seemed a bit long. I waited even longer and eventually sat back down to find out the price with my lease returned was $530/month, nearly $100 more per month than my previous lease. The price I was given on the phone was $467/month and was assured it would be lower once the value of my lease was taken into account. I eventually conceded and said I would put down $2000, double the previously agreed upon down-payment for the original lease offer. That got my payment to $484/month which was still higher than I was told on the phone. They take my payment and Now I've been there for 2 hours. Next, I was told to wait for the finance guy. I literally waited over an hour while constantly being told "just a few more minutes". An hour of waiting. Now it's 130 and I make a joke to the finance guy, "I've been here 3 hours, hopefully I can be done to go pick up my kids at 345 from school. I didn't get lunch and I'm certainly not going to be able to go to work, but at least I can get my kids." How wrong was I. The finance guy flew thru the paperwork for me...not a problem since I had done this several times before and knew what was going on. We finish and he gives me back to my sales guy who tells me grab a seat they will bring my car around. Now it's about 2p. I go outside to empty my old car, remove car seats, check glove box, etc... and wait for my car to pull around. A few more minutes go by. My salesman tells me they are washing it now and bringing it around. Not the case at all. I walk back and forth in front of the dealership waiting for my car for 20 MINUTES. Other customers stop to ask what's going on and I tell them "I signed my paperwork and paid, just want to get my car and go home." I finally go back inside and can't get any help except some comiseration from the receptionist who concedes "you sure have been waiting a long time". My Salesguy mysteriously reappears around 315, and looks confused where my car could be. He finally locates it and I have to walk into the side lot to pick it up. Not even delivered to a front spot where I can easily transfer my kids 2 car seats. Then has the audacity to ask me to take a picture with my car. I finally drive off FOUR AND A HALF HOURS LATER. I call my wife before I leave to tell her she must leave work and get my kids because I am 45 minutes away at this dealership. Needless to say, she was unhappy.
Just to top it off, I finally get home and the next morning when I get in my car to go to work the raido has been reset. I'm confused but reset my station again. After work, I get in my car and the stations are unset again. Still confused I set them again. The next morning I go to my car and I finally realize the issue. aAfter starting my car, IT IS STILL IN DEMO MODE. At this point I have lost any molecule of patience that remained. I understand extenuating circumstances, but with everything that happened and time involved, it was an atrocious car purchasing experience. Those are the main issues I had. Also other small things not worth my time to go into any...
Read moreThis was the worst car buying experience Iâve ever had at a dealership. 1st, I went in with an appointment, I understood that the sales person I was working with, Brianna, was running behind so I had to wait about 15 minutes(didnât offer any refreshments) & she said that she was going to send the customer she was working with on a test drive & get to me. Well, when she got to me and it was my turn to do a test drive she told me it was policy that she had to ride with me. I donât know if I needed an escort because Iâm Black & her previous customer was white, but thatâs what happened. BTW the car is a 2019 Equinox for 11,195, so it wasnât like I was trying to test drive a high value car. I wanted to switch sales associates, & I asked someone who was free at the time, but she told me she couldnât take me since I was already working with Brianna.
2nd- I came fully prepared with pre-approval from my credit union & I knew exactly which car I wanted. I did not want to haggle about the price, just wanted to sign and drive. I called prior to my arrival to ensure the car was still available, when I got there, they couldnât find the keysâŚtook an additional about 10-15minutes. We then wasted another 15 minutes because they were trying to convince me to get in house financing. Then tried to have me leave a hundred dollar deposit because they were about to close and my sales rep mustâve had a hard out & didnât want to finish up the sale. I told her no.
3rd- The next day while trying to to get the purchase complete they had to send the purchase agreement over 4 or 5 times because they kept leaving info out, or sending illegible copies to my credit union, which delayed the process until the next day. Also, they tried to slip a 100.00 charge on the cost of the car because of some 3M door weather stripping, said itâs policy because they add them to all of their cars, I questioned why it wasnât already included in the sticker price if itâs policy? She ended up having it removed.
4th- When I go to pick up the car, 2 days after my initial visit, with the check in hand from my credit union, I had to wait 20-30 minutes past the appointment time given to me before I was assisted because Brianna was helping someone else, & still no refreshments offered. I ended up being at the dealership for 2 HOURS just waiting to sign paperwork. Brianna was saying the person handling the paperwork was new, & didnât really know what he was doing. Then they had the nerve to offer me some warranties. I was thinking due to the inconvenience they wouldâve offered a free sirus/onstar subscription, a bag of chips, or something. But no, wanted me to purchase a warranty, which I know is protocol, but seeing as how they handled my buying experience it felt audacious.
In conclusion, I donât know if it was the dealership or the sales person I got, but I was unhappy, & would not recommend. The only reason why I worked with them is because it was the cheapest price I found and needed to get a car fast for my mother. However, If you are going to use this dealership, I would not recommend working with...
Read moreI had an overall bad experience with this dealership. I was building vehicles online and they had one that was very close to what I wanted. I reached out in advance to tell them I would be in the area on an upcoming Friday (hr and a half away from my home). I made it very clear that I was very interested in the car but that I had a time crunch in order to get to a kids hockey game later that day. I even asked a few times if it would be enough time (we had about 2hr and 45âmins). When arriving at the dealership, the truck had not been detailed in advance. We test drove it and I made it clear I wanted to move forward and from there the process slowed way down. I hinted if the group could start getting the truck cleaned multiple times before it was ever taken back. I had a check ready for a down payment and was already pre approved through USAA. At that point our salesmen would disappear in the dealership for long periods of time. I also had a gm discount code. I kept asking if we could look at numbers and how the code affects the price. I never saw those numbers until I was signing papers. The dealership clearly did not want me to use USAA as they were working and wasting my time trying to âbeatâ the rate through USAA, which they guaranteed they would beat it, but again, as I was signing papers, it was not lower than USAA, at that point I wanted the truck and needed to leave for the hockey game. They told me they would bring the truck to the ice arena nearby. I let them know what time I would need it by as we needed to drive back home for baseball after that. They were late bringing me the truck. I had to send my son with another family so he wouldnât miss his baseball game. On top of that, the truck windshield was struck by a rock while the salesmen was driving it to me. He guaranteed he would get it taken care of the following Monday. Itâs been over two weeks and my windshield is still not fixed. I asked if there was anything the dealership could do for the poor experience, and mentioned Iâd be interested in a tonneau cover. Hoping they would potentially cover the costs and installation as well as fix my windshield. Nope, they offered to order a cover at the cost to the dealership, but I would still have to pay for labor and everything, no mark down. Which is madness because there are lower prices online everywhere. I couldnât get a straight answer from the salesmen on this for 2 weeks, finally had to call the manager and get that information. I couldâve starting purchasing and taking care of tonneau cover myself a week and a half ago. They clearly wanted be to drive an hour and a half to get the windshield fixed , which to me was unacceptable. Yesterday the sales manager tried to contact my local Chevy to get it fixed here, hopefully that happens this upcoming week. This was the worst buying experience I have ever had. I shouldâve walked away but they had the...
