A very good collection very badly curated. What is the theme? “Here’s some cars. And some…trains. And some…generators? But first a couple of planes! And also here’s the most American innovation: Math! And tractors!

Two different recreations of the wright flyer? For…reasons.

There is a MASSIVE locomotive and about 30 more generators than there needs to be.

If they doubled down and looked with fresh eyes this place could be amazing. Get rid of some of the things taking up too much more floor space. Show things that are more current than 1980s…has American innovation stopped since then? Isn’t there like, computers or whatever?

The problem of a museum that is so tied to ford that it cannot distance itself enough. We know ford isn’t exactly a leader in automobile technology anymore but that doesn’t mean we need to spend so much time on the old days. It seems sad. What’s the point if the airplane with the artic explorers btw? Massive amounts of floor space for some plane that Edsel sponsored and had nothing else to do with? Get that outta there.

The more I think about it the worse it gets. The math area (really more about physics but) would be an amazing museum if they duu in bled down and made it the size of two of those useless plane displays. Plus tell a story. How did one innovation lead to the other? Actually that would be an amazing idea for the whole museum Or even an exhibit. The closest you get is the planes setting consecutively further records but then you top out at 1930s…no innovations in air travel lately? Huh. Your collections of sports cars is neat. I’m sure some are impressed by the president’s limos (another weird one. Ends with Regan?!) Also, and this is minor, the whole museum is set right to left. That that is a weird choice in America.

Okay I’ll quit before I talk myself out of another star. There is some neat stuff: the glass was off to the side but a favorite. The parking was outrageously expensive considering they have paved 30 football fields and there were on a Saturday afternoon, about 300 cars total. At least let those with Fords park for free. Poor suckers...
