WHAT A DISASTER!!
I was the first resident EVER there back in 2010 and this building has literally gotten worse and worse every year.
Let us get this out of the way: THE BEST and only good things about this building are the location and the maintenance staff. It is literally right in downtown Delray on Atlantic Ave. Second, the maintenance staff, especially Manny, are literally great. Super responsive, friendly and competent. Manny has been there since Day One too and is loved by so many residents.
Okay. Now, for the bad stuff:
The PAPER-THIN walls. You can literally hear EVERYTHING your neighbor(s) are doing and saying. I used to live next to a guy who snored and got up to pee five times a night and could hear both. Every apartment was built w these super thin walls and if you don't mind listening to your neighbors' conversations; snore; pee; having sex; etc. then this place is for you. For these super high rent prices, it is TERRIBLE!
The NOISE! Granted, choosing to live right on Atlantic Ave in downtown Delray pretty much assures one that he/she doesn't mind loud noise at night, but this is ridiculous. When it was first built, nothing was around this area, but over the years and with Delray's explosive growth, downtown is LOUD all of the time and every apartment here will hear it--some more than others. Be prepared! DO NOT let them lie to you that it isn't an issue because it DEFINITELY is!!!
The pool is a joke. There is literally ZERO sun to be had by the sunbathers as the way the pool courtyard was inexplicably designed. What's the point of having lounge chairs by the pool in South Florida when one cannot sit in the sun?? Also, they installed a fire pit in the pool courtyard again for some INEXPLICABLE reason. Yes, a fire pit in South Florida that no one knows if it even works because it has never needed to be turned on.
Management is completely unresponsive as they never reply to emails when submitting a question or request and the manager, Kelly, seems too interested finding her next glass of wine and then stumbling around Atlantic Ave. than doing her job. Again, inexplicable.
FIRE ALARMS! MY GOODNESS!! A few months ago, the alarms went off at 1130 pm on a weekend night for an HOUR AND A HALF! They are sooo loud that everyone in downtown Delray walking around can hear them. For some reason, they ALWAYS seem to go off during the middle of the night or around bedtime.
VERY LIMITED guest parking. Do not even bother as there are only a handful of guest spots for over 300 residents and they even TICKET you (resident or guest!!) if you stay too long. It's terrible again for the price one pays to live here. Nothing like having a parent getting a parking ticket in your own building when bringing over a Thanksgiving turkey.
NOT DOG FRIENDLY AT ALL!! They allow two dogs per unit (EACH DOG has to be pre approved), but residents are complaining about the barking ALL OF THE TIME! Yes, babies cry and dogs bark. That's what they do and there is going to be noise from them. SOO MANY residents I know including me have received nasty letters/messages from management that their dog(s) are barking too often and "disturbing the peace". Okay. Then why allow dogs AT ALL? In fact, my two goldendoodles are ESA dogs with ESA letters and I was still asked to vacate in only 7 days because they were barking too much. In a busy building like this with people walking in and out ALL OF THE TIME, guess what dogs are going to do when they hear constant noises?? Absolutely ridiculous and disgraceful and current owners tell me that they're getting warnings now too.
These are just some of the things that I can think of off the top of my head (there are probably more) and all of these complaints can be corroborated and reaffirmed by other residents.
Again, for the SKY HIGH rent prices, realize that you're ONLY paying for the location, but going to get hammered by the all of the other terrible components.
Save your $3000-$5000 per month (which is a lot of money) and find a place without this...
Read moreToo often people only take the time to write a complaint, but I want to take the time to tell you how special Worthing Place is as a community.
Kelly, Shana, Kimberly and Manny have been absolutely kind and professional. Kelly has helped me with small and big requests in my time here. My washing machine was malfunctioning for a while, and she worked to get it replaced. She makes me feel cared for and valued. She works hard and is fair. As a resident in the building, Kelly makes me feel safe and secure. I know she is doing her very best every day to ensure that the building operates smoothly and efficiently. Shana is a rock. She is business-minded, and when I ask to have something fixed, I can always count on it being fixed promptly. Recently, I asked to have the tub caulking redone and the sink faucet fixed, and it was fixed almost immediately. Shana’s attention to detail is impeccable. I recently moved into a new unit, and I was extremely nervous about the move. Shana showed her depth of character by being extremely patient and kind to me. I was going into the office every day for over a month. She encouraged me to move forward, and she showed great empathy for my anxiety. Manny also takes good care of me and offers to help me when he can. His interactions with me are always professional, and he is always kind and thoughtful. Kimberly, who is new to the Worthing Place family, offered me so much support as I wrestled with the decision to move to a new unit. The time and care that Kimberly gives me each time I visit the office [which happens a lot], makes me feel like I’m more than merely a tenant. Kimberly sees me as a human being. Kimberly, Shana, Manny, and Kelly have made me feel comforted and cared for, and I will never forget the kindness they have given to me. Worthing Place is an incredible building. Jimmy and Alecia and Kaye at the front desk have also been lovely and kind.
Aesthetically, the building is beautiful. The apartment units, the roof, the pool area and the front desk and lounge are luxurious and livable. The building is always clean and well-maintained. The location of the building is also a huge draw for me.
While the building offers so much to the residents, it is the people who work at Worthing Place that make this building really special. I feel that Worthing Place is my home and not just a place...
Read moreI live here and have lived at Worthing Place for the past two months. I moved in looking for a lively spot with both privacy and seclusion and, at the same time, access to amazing nightlife, activities, and lifestyle-enriching opportunities all around me. Having moved to South Florida from the Upper East Side of Manhattan and previously the heart of central Hong Kong, I was used to having a plethora of entertainment talk around me at any time. Living here has truly been the greatest privilege and joy. When I moved in, Shana, Daniel, and manager Kelly made me feel right at home, ensuring that my move was smooth and easy and that I quickly settled in. I have a one-bedroom on the fifth floor and could not be happier. The quality of the appliances, furnishings, and newly-updated floors and amenities are superior. Truly, it feels like resort-quality living but happens to be at a terrific price. What’s more, the community is so supportive, and the Worthing Place family gets together for regular events and parties and gatherings to meet new neighbors and make new friends. If you have an issue such as needing an appliance to be adjusted, just send an email — the maintenance staff is on its way, making your life here a breeze. Friday’s and Saturday’s, just watch while your friends descend on Atlantic Avenue, and you have a front row seat to all the action. I am thankful every single day for the amazing people who work at Worthing Place, and the incredible quality of life that comes from living here. Stop by for a meeting with the leasing office. If you’re in South Florida — it might just be the best decision you’ve made. And if you do, I’ll look forward to welcoming you to...
