This gym is now extra crowded everyday, every evening. Everyone has to have their picture taken and you're required to sign a liability waiver in order to work out in the gym, so you can't sue the gym if you get injured on the premises. Check-in: The employees don't allow you to check in to the gym from the parking lot like the app says you can do. You have to walk up to the desk and scan in. If you check in from the parking lot and walk in, a rude employee will track you down and say, "You have to check in at the desk even if you did it before walking in." If you ask what's the point of having the option to do it in the parking lot, the employee will cut you off and say (insert sarcastic bitchy tone here) "I just work here and you have to do it at the desk." He walked away. The exercise machines: The weights on the machines are rusted from years of sweat. If the fabric is torn/worn from use it takes a while to replace it. Hot tub: The hot tub has a very high concentration of chlorine in the water that bleaches the color out of swimsuits and swim trunks. The pressure of the jets on your sore body makes it worth the sacrifice of ruining your swimsuit. If you ask an employee at the front desk if the hot tub is open you will get, "I don't know" as a answer every time no matter the day or time. Several other members I've met in the hot tub have said 3 of the 4 LA Fitness gyms they frequent in the area have shut down their hot tubs under the guise of its being serviced and it has now been 5 months with no insight to when they will be operational again. This locations hot tub just joined the club of "it's closed for cleaning" club. Let's see how long it takes before its open again. It also has 3 water leaks in the ceiling that are dripping around the hot tub. Classes: The different classes that are offered to members are only during the day while most of us are working 8am-5pm jobs during the week. I go to this gym because it's close to where I live and cuts down on my commute time in the car after work. Hopefully things will improve sooner rather than later. Updates: The hot tub is open again and the water is very sudsy. The jets are the best for sore muscles. Update August 2022. My daughter was threatened by a aggressive man when she went to workout on one of the machines. He left the machine he was working out on and yelled at her claiming he was using her machine as a part of his workout set and she couldn't use it. He acted like he was going to attack her which threw her off for a moment. She told him off and took a picture of him and walked away. He then decided to track her down and apologize ONLY BECAUSE SHE TOOK A PICTURE OF HIS RUDE ASS. She reported his aggressive behavior to the gym via email and there has been NO RESPONSE. The management doesn't care.. Watch your back ladies and get a picture of the guy if you get yelled at by one of these guys. The other guys in the gym will only watch and not help you. Update 2024: There are a set of lockers in the ladies locker room that have locks on them that haven't been removed for over a month. Members have claimed a locker and put a lock on it. There is a sign posted in the locker room stating that locks will be removed and belongings will be removed. They should take the sign down nobody is following the rule. Male members are walking around with weight pins (the pin you put in the weights to hold the weights you choose to lift during your set) in hand that they take around to every machine they work out on. A lot of the weight pins in the machines are missing. WTF is happening in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wish there was more attention and care given to loyal members with concerns or suggestions to this particular gym.
The equipment is lacking, and the ones that are available are falling apart. That becomes so frustrating especially when the gym is packed and you are limited on what you can use due to availability. Example: there are 2 leg curl machines⦠1 of them has always had the bar uneven at the ankles due to wear and tear. Today this same machine was jammed and unable for usage. Why canāt they replace these machines that are clearly not functional? You have a lot of people attending the gym at the same time, so lack of money coming in canāt be it. Cable Machines: you have 3 or 4 cable machines, but each have a missing hook and unable to use bcus thereās no way to hook anything to it⦠some have a severe creaking noise, letās add oil to it! Stair master: on the machines that work properly, some of the steps are severely cracked. It will cause a severe injury to someone who is new and unaware. But no action has been taken to fix them. And to be clear, out of 6 machines maybe at best 3 of them work properly with all functions.. ON A GOOD DAY!
For the amount of trainers who walk around, you would think they would have better attention and care to their workplace. Of course members should always put away their weights after use, but letās be honest.. they donāt. It takes time to locate dumbbells bcus they are scattered everywhere in the gym. And these complaints of old or unusable equipment would be something they notice too, if they cared to report it.
A safety concern: there is a child who runs freely through the gym with no supervision. I believe the parent or guardian works a class at the gym, and I understand not having a sitter.. but itās not an appropriate setting to have your kid run in and out between people, who are throwing weights around not noticing the child.
This gym has potential⦠they just need someone to care for this location. As I said it DOES have traffic. It shouldnāt be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām here on vacation from out of state. I really wanted a decent place where I could get a good lift on so I went here thinking I could get that but I was wrong so I signed up for a free trial because if I do decide to move down maybe my wife and I would take this into consideration. 1. The staff looked miserable every single of the employee working there looked sad. 2. It looks extremely nice outside and the inside is fairly clean but the equipment is rusted out almost like it was from the 90s almost like a cheap hotel fitness room. You would think that it would be in decent shape considering how big the company is. I understand weights get rust on them but this isnāt a body builder type gym. 3. the bench press and squat rack I could not find one clip to hold the weights on the bar for the life of me. god forbid one of the weights slides off the bar because it isnāt t secure. I guess thatās what the waiver is for right? 4. There was no emphasis on having the patrons wipe down the equipment, they would just get off the cardio machines or weights and move on leaving it for the staff the clean up. Thatās including the Mattās. Personally Iām not a fan or ringworm. This has nothing to do with the staff or the company, but MANY not all but alot of the people that were working out there seemed arrogant and lacked good gym etiquette. It was not a comfortable space. I didnāt go into the locker rooms, sauna, or pool but I had already seen enough. Sadly I will not be finishing up the rest of the 3 day trial. I went and purchased a decent travel workout set. Compared to my gym back home this doesnāt compete and really needs a complete overhaul. I really debated on leaving this review because i donāt like leaving these kinds of reviews but it...
