Response to Owner: Actually, your counter staff member only pointed out that the Flamingo Roll had a GF option, & that the Krunchy Roll could be made GF. There were no other options pointed out to me. Also, upon my asking when more GF options would be made available, the staff member just muttered "idunno" - not really helpful, informed or willing to provide insight into the reason for the inconvenience. Aside from that, at your currently high price-points, I'd prefer to get a meal that fulfills me for dinner - a tray of rolls is a snack for an entree price. So yes, I was frustrated when the onigiris, ramen, etc had no options for me, and no shared explanation from staff as to why. I supported WS when yall were operating as a ghost kitchen out of Taw Win and was excited to return to see the new store front. But this visit was highly disappointing, especially considering GF options used to be available & wasn't made apparent via the website that those options were officially removed. I wasted my time then I had to go out of my way to pickup dinner at another vegan food spot. Unfortunate just when I like a place, there's something to ruin it. THERE ARE NO GLUTEN FREE ENTREE OPTIONS AVAILABLE. You all just lost my business permanently. What kind of vegan restaurant does not accommodate GF dietary restrictions, its extremely simple - use alternatives to wheat, or dont bread items upon request and use Tamari instead of soy sauce. Seriously why do businesses that serve food seem so clueless about this??? We literally live in a society and culture where dietary restrictions and food sensitivities are growing daily so Im not understanding how you can serve vegan but not GF. What a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLetās be realistic here. The name is incredibly deceiving⦠There is nothing wellness related about this place. Itās in fact, one of the most unhealthy places you can find in Denver. Iāll start by saying the food is tasty until itās not. Seven out of 10 times youāll get something good until you eat something that gives you severe stomach nausea. Nearly everything on the menu is highly processed or deep-fried. And as a chef, I can tell you 100% theyāre reusing the oil way longer than they should be! And when I say highly processed, Iām talking about fake seafood thatās made out of chemicals. The atmosphere is absolutely horrific. It looks like someone scraped chairs across the entire floor. The entire table was sticky and looked the woman cleaning the tables out in very little effort. The walls are stained with scuff marks and a light brown hue from the excessive amount of use of the deep fryer. The place smells thick and heavy of fried oil so much so that it can make you queasy. The service is always slow painfully slow. And Iāve never met a single person that worked there thatās been charming or charismatic in any way shape or form. It looks like they all hate their jobs. Iām not here to just simply bash this place because you can find something tasty on the menu, but it will not be healthy. But the place needs an overhaul. The exhaust system is terrible and there is no AC. So itās a thick oily air that can make you queasy. Also itās certainly overpriced. Iāve been here about a dozen times and after seeing the inside of the restaurant today, I donāt think I would ever eat anything that was cooked in a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo I am super bummed right now writing this review because I have been a Wellness fan since day one, for roughly 5 years when we could purchase prepped rolls at the Nooch. I followed them to Choice Market of course. Got rolls the night before they had the cross contamination issue with Choice. Followed them to Aurora when they worked from a shared kitchen. I was even invited to and attended the grand opening launch party for the current Colfax location. I have always traveled 30-40+ minutes for them..
..my last few visits have just been sub-par. I donāt know if it is lack of training, lack of employees in general, maybe adding too many new items to the menu so the OG items canāt be focused on or what but the recipes and tastes have changed drastically. The take out order I had today included the Smokey Sake Roll and the Ohnagi, 2 of my favorite. There is NO smoke in the Sake and the Ohnagi is just raw eggplant wrapped, no sauce. The time before this the shiitake mushroom stuffed tofu had been minced and there was no flavor.
It just sucks there has been no consistency in flavors and recipes since the flagship store was opened. It also sucks how impersonal it has become ordering from the kiosk. It also sucks how long it takes for them to prepare an order. On average itās 20 minutes longer than ETA provided on square.
I miss the old reliable, always...
