Came here earlier today with my fiancé. It was raining so I told her to go inside and I would wait outside until she was ready to leave. While I was waiting directly in front of the store, I noticed the sales associate with short purple hair taking pictures of my vehicle. I didn’t think much of it until my fiancé came outside and told me that she felt like she was being profiled while in there.
We’re visiting from California and we weren’t naive about what we were getting into as minorities in this state. But after visiting a few mountain towns during the week (Pagosa Springs and Salida to be exact) and not even feeling a hint of the racial profiling that my fiance and I experienced here, I feel even more compelled to write this review now.
Especially after the “owner” replied to her review but pretending that “we were at the wrong place”. Additionally, it is laughable that she asks for my fiancé to give a detailed response of what the store looks like to verify we were in the right place when she is not able to respond directly to the owner’s comments publicly.
Fact of the matter is that you have two individuals in this shop who could do better and seeing the “owner’s attempt to chalk this up to only a mistake” is even more sad and disappointing.
We did not get the wrong store. We were at Goldmine Vintage where we were racially profiled by the girl with purple hair.
To my fellow POC…please avoid this poor excuse for a progressive...

Read moreI stopped in Goldmine Vintage when I visited Denver this past summer after remembering how awesome their Boulder store was years ago. If you're a fan of vintage clothing, you should definitely check this place out. It's a fairly big store and they have a huge, wonderful selection of shirts, denim, outerwear, and dresses, all of which are in very good condition. It's a bit on the expensive side (I paid about $60 for a fabulous '70s jumpsuit that needed tailored), but considering that everything in the store is virtually one-of-a-kind and in great shape, I'm happy to spend that kind of money. The staff that I interacted with was friendly and helpful. The lady who helped me at the register said that they bring in items from all over the country, so I'm excited to see what they have next time I'm there. I highly...
