As a happy RiNo - Five Points neighborhood resident, I love supporting businesses around here. Having walked past Haven Nails a few times, I made a mental note to come by the next time I needed to get my nails done, as I was still shopping around for a nail tech.
I'm happy to report that the hunt for a nail salon is over! Haven Nails has earned a loyal customer. For my first visit, I was welcomed warmly and excitedly. They asked if I had an appointment, so while I did walk in, I was able to book one for approximately 45 minutes later on the spot (I took advantage of this time to grab a coffee from Coffee Sarap). Awesome!
When I returned to the salon, I was shown to my seat for my pedicure. They were busy, so I did have to wait an additional 15 minutes before they started. No worries, it's understandable! They provided me a drink and I got to catch up on the news.
Twee (I hope that's the correct spelling!) did a fantastic job on my feet. My issue is mainly with the cuticles of my toes and calluses that develop on the side of my big toes due to running, so she cleaned that up painlessly and left me with the cutest, softest feet I could've asked for! Now it was time for my manicure.
I appreciated the fact that I had my feet and hands worked on individually vs. at the same time. 9 times out of 10, at prior salons when they'd have two techs working on me at the same time, my nails never came out quite as good. So while it is more time taken having services done individually, I'd prefer that than being bumrushed.
Twee also did my manicure and knocked it out of the park again. She cut them down to my desired length and cleaned up my cuticles nicely. The color was also just what I hoped to welcome in spring!
Haven Nails only works with polish or gel (no dip/powder) and has an excellent variety of colors. Their space is wide open, welcoming, clean, and vibrant. I loved hanging out in there. I'm so glad I can walk to my nail salon now and have Haven Nails as part of my monthly...
Read moreI chose to try out this nail salon simply because my other nail salon was booked up and because of the short proximity to where I live. Unfortunately, I greatly regret making that decision. I should've known going here was a bad idea from the start because I had to call multiple times yesterday before someone even answered the phone to make and appointment. That being said, I did make an appointment for the morning when I thought they would be less busy (which turned out to be correct) and I even arrived 5 mins early. When I walked in, there was no one at the front desk but I could see 2 people in the back who clearly saw me but did not come to the front for about 3 mins to greet me. Then the nail tech who did my nails came out while talking on her cell phone and told me to have a seat. So as I sat at the desk getting my gel polished removed, I tried sparking a little conversation but the nail tech seemed very uninterested, not to mention she had dirt and who knows what else under her own fingernails! Working at a nail salon your staff should be clean and friendly. I was also very disappointed because when she was removing my cuticles she cut me and acted like she didn't. She didn't even apologize when you could clearly see the blood! When it came time to choose my color, she acted annoyed because she didn't think they had it and had to look 2 extra seconds. Sure enough, they had it! Before she applied my color I asked for a design on 2, yes ONLY 2 of my nails and she said she didn't have time as her next client was coming. I was shocked because I made an appointment and was on time and am a paying costumer, yet you don't have time! Needless to say I won't be going back there and I am very disappointed as I paid more for here then other nail salons...
Read moreMy out of town bridesmaids were so kind as to plan a nail date for us the day before the wedding (10/14). None of us are local to the area so we weren’t able to test this place out but the pictures online were a super cute vibe. We had appointments for two bridesmaids, myself, and the moms. When booking there was a cancellation fee, and unfortunately my mother in law got stuck at the airport so she couldn’t come. Instead of paying the fee for nothing my dad was nice enough to step in and get his “man”-icure and pedicure with no polish. The place was super cute and clean, and we were the only ones in there. I got gel nails and toes, one bridesmaids got normal polish on nails and gel toes and the other reversed that, and my mother got “gel-x” which she was told was pretty much like acrylic nails but polished on. They had a good amount of options for colors. When I asked for a flower design on my toes the girl was honest and said she wasn’t good at flowers so I settled for a simple vine. When it was time to pay there was miscommunication among staff and they tried to call one of my girls back to pay more before realizing that they were given a discount for paying in cash which is advertised at the business. It was a little awkward. My nails lasted a good 2.5 weeks but my moms nails popped off the next day and my bridesmaid with gel nails was chipped the next day as well. These were also the most expensive nails we have ever had done about ($270 for my father who again didn't get polish and I). Very simple, nothing special cant recommend...
