Alright when I first started going I did it to better myself and force meditation the world was overwhelming with life decisions /situations .the first time changed my perspective the world felt quiet after my first session . . But the more I kept going here ,the easier it got to meditate and help with the outside world ,it use to be difficult to silent the mind at first really difficult .then it got to a point where I noticed little differences in responses with life & in the sensory tank . Iād go for a year straight once a month.itwould help me focus on my combat sports or the way Iād respond to situations or with decision making . Made it more easier to immerse myself in it . The more that I went the more I managed to unlock something else about myself in the sensory deprivation tank. Iv gotten to the point when Iām in there Iām in a state of meditation where it feels like Iām asleep but have a sense of everything around me . 90 minutes would feel like 10 my last one was pretty intense . Almost like if for a moment Iām not here in the physical . Sounds odd right ? Iv. Never thought Iād grow into this but it helped through the year with small decision making that made it more clearer for me . Has helped with my overall life . Im already a very resilient person but this just takes me to new heights . Calm mind calm heart . If I could Iād work there I would if given the chance. The staffs really cool .the place /the environment itās unique in itās own way . Give it a shot . As a person you would least expect to be here .itās a place of meditation. Especially if you had life hand you tough situations this will bring you back to your best self. If you donāt believe me go in with an open mind and give it a try . I always walk out calm and peaceful. You feel youāll look better / you feel the stress leaving your body thereās a lot of benefits to this. I just gotta say Iām glad I gave this place a try . Will be going again . So thanks to everybody there from...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst timer here. The service was amazing! She had great vibes, I felt comfortable listening to her and asking questions. The experience, like wise. The place is nice and clean, cozy. They have two types of sensory deprivation chambers - one egg shaped, and one that resembles to a bath tub and has more vertical space. I tried the egg shaped version and was highly satisfied. I floated without music and in the dark. You can chose to have ambient music on and blue light, if you prefer. I have some experience in meditation which helped in releasing tension pretty quickly but itās definitely not required. I lost sense of time around what felt like 15-20 minutes. My thoughts rose again just before the 90 minutes mark. I stretched a little and moved a little, trying subtle changes in positions. Itās like when you wake up and the bed is super comfortable and every new position is even more comfortable. Divine piano melody signals the end of the session. Opening the chamber was easy even in my half conscious state. Thereās shampoo, conditioner, hairdryer etc. no need to worry about anything like that. Thereās a cozy sitting area at the back to transition and rest after floating with amazing artbooks.
The only one tiny thing that was a little stressful is that the floating session started earlier than I was ready. So I was still showering (before floating) when the audio started the introduction round. And as a person not wanting to miss a thing I felt rushed to climb into the chamber even though I was mid-shower š
Anyway, it was a divine experience, would love to do it on a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely amazing. John at the front desk was so knowledgable and helpful. Everything in the facility is so thoughtfully designed. The whole center is designed around floating.
I started floating when I heard Tim Ferriss recommend it on one of his podcasts as part of his meditation practice. Previously I had been scared of "sensory deprivation tanks" -- I quite like my senses and I certainly didn't want to be deprived of them. The term "sensory deprivation" does not do floating justice. I wish I had tried floating decades ago, because it is seriously the best thing ever for relaxation, stress relief, and relieving pain. The facility at Samana is luxurious and a wonderful, soothing experience. You can keep the light on if you like, but I switch it off after a few minutes and relax. Removing the distractions of light and sound allows me to relax into a deeply soothing meditative journey.
I have had a daily meditation practice for about 18 years, and the type of high-quality meditation experience that I am able to attain in a float tank is something that I am only able to otherwise attain a few times per year during regular meditation. Floating replenishes our body's magnesium by absorbing some of the Epsom salts in the water through the skin, which is great because most Americans are deficient in magnesium. Floating is so great to repair body and mind and attain deep relaxation.
I have floated before at several other locations, but I've never had an experience this fantastic. I am so impressed and will definitely be back. Thanks again for such a...
