Sidewinder is the best roller coaster at Elitch Gardens, most of the time. It packs a serious punch for its size with some seriously powerful airtime and positive g's. Although, it's not my personal favorite in the park as I prefer Twister for its longer ride time. Duration is a big thing for me, but Sidewinder is great despite its short track length. Its top speed is only 45 miles per hour but the crests of the two drops really launch you. It has the shortest wait of any of the coasters in the park. You never have to wait more than fifteen minutes to get on. One downside with this coaster is that headwinds can lead to longer waits. Additionally, this ride is also rarely open due to staffing issues at the park. So if you see it running, do laps on it because it is rarely available. The line is fast if there's no wind and the park is well staffed. My recommendation is to hit this coaster on weekends when the park is the busiest, and therefore has more staffing. It is definitely worth your time and due to its rarity might not be around much longer. Arrow went out of business twenty years ago and replacement parts are...

My favorite seat is the rear of the train so you get a good pop of ejector down the 46 foot drop and then a nice pop on the way up when you go through it in reverse. It's also pretty good in the very front of the train but not as sustained ejector airtime on the way down. If you're in the Denver area you definitely need to check out Sidewinder at...
