While I had nukewarm things to say about elitch's. Boy do I hate this polluting waste of water. This thing is barely open due to my sheer difficulty in maintaining it and the fact that it is the only "good option" when it comes to public pools in the area. The urea content of the water here is palpable just the moment you get in every time. You get to enjoy real roller coaster. Wait times for glorified water slimes while carrying a heavy tube up rough concrete stairs in bare feet. Over half of the slides require a tube which you have to rent, so that's an extra charge on top of the extra charge of the ticket you need to get into this specific section of the park (or at least last I checked). If it wasn't for how crowded this place is, I would claim that it's technically just a private pool for members of the elitches club. Maybe I'm just spiteful, because I got too big for the water play structure too quickly grown up. But it takes me months to feel clean after getting near this place. We lost my brother in elitches once and had to start looking for him in this area. I'm pretty sure it gave me pneumonia (bad incident was years ago but it should give you an idea of the negative associations that locals have with this place). The thing I hate about it more than the smell more crowds or money. Is how much water it wastes. Water evaporates far quicker at this altitude, despite this, To my knowledge they have done nothing to make any of the equipment. They have more water efficienct than any other water park. This means they end up having to run a water park for nearly three times. The amount of water than any other water park has to run with. And it gets closed when it's too cold. Which can happen in the summer here. If you want to enjoy some fun in the sun with some waves, go to waterworld. It's still an ecological disaster and a burden to our economy. But at the very least they know how...
Read moreThis water park has the worst wave pool I have ever experienced. We got there at opening and within the first hour the waves went off twice. At this point an announcement was made to clear the wave pool for a mandatory break. We thought this was odd because the pool has only been open an hour.
Throughout the day, the wave pool didn’t really improve in quality. People would stand around and wait for the waves to go off, but usually nothing happened. When we got back from lunch at 1:45, the next wave didn’t happen until 2:30 but was cut short due to a life save by the lifeguard. Good job to the lifeguards as their “sprinkler” head movements ensured that they were always on the lookout. People waiting around, but after a half hour I got out knowing that the wave probably wouldn’t show for a while.
Also, the water was freezing, especially in the wave pool.
Fortunately we got some chairs got the day and this allowed us to have a “home base” to come back to. Unfortunately, some people are not the greatest in cleaning up after themselves, and even worse, no staff ever came through to clean up noticeable messes…I guess they don’t do that until the end of the day once everyone has left.
As stated earlier, I did find the lifeguards to be aware...
