Depoe Bay Scenic View Area — Attraction in Depoe Bay

Wow, to find this tiny paradise was an amazing stroke of fortune. While walking along the half mile strip of gorgeous ocean cliff views, we only saw two other groups of people. For adults this walk is amazing, unless your child is on a harness, or young enough to be carried, I would bring them no where near this park, as there is a sheer 60 ft drop into rocky ocean if you fall. Even for my disabled mother the walk was easy, although not wheelchair accessible. There are benches everywhere if someone in your party is unable to walk for long periods of time without a break, and there are plenty of nice rocks to sit on as well. This is the best secret of Depoe Bay. Access on foot from sunset street. The park spans from Cat Lick Rock to the next cove. The wave watching is amazing.

There is a short trail, a picnic table, and several benches to watch the birds, the seals, and the whales. One was 100 feet off the cliffs today. One of two off shore along the park.

We sat and watched whales and birds and waves and sky-- the breeze was mild (not always the case) and we felt tension and anxiety lift. We enjoy sitting on the benches that are dedicated to loved ones. I like the placque attached that tells something about them- we often thank them by name as we leave.
