My husband and I stayed at Hotel Indigo Detroit this past weekend and I must say, our stay here was far less than satisfactory. The front desk/restaurant staff were nice, and the bed was comfortable, but that’s about it. When we arrived to our room (room 818), the room smelled very musty. I think housekeeping tried masking the smell with cleaner, but it just made it worse. Also, I noticed that we had no hand soap in the dispenser and the floor did not look like it had been cleaned. To top it off, I noticed this INCREDIBLY loud noise and couldn’t figure out what it was (it sounded like there was a literal train station next to us). It ends up, it was actually the service elevator down the hall… I have never heard something so loud! I called the front desk, and luckily, they were able to move us to another room. Unfortunately, when we moved over to the new room, it was not any better. When we got off the elevator, the entire hallway reeked of weed! It was really, really bad. Additionally, the room did not seem to be cleaned very well and there were cracks in the ceiling and floor. Also, the shower had dirt marks in it and needed a good scrub. The bathroom sink did not drain properly and got backed up. I informed the front desk of the smell (and our room issues) and they said they’d look into it. Initially, I was really excited to stay at this hotel since the photos on the website looked nice and the location is great, but after our experience, I can’t recommend it. As I said earlier in my review, the front desk/restaurant staff were nice (and the food at the restaurant was good), but I probably won’t be coming back due to these reasons stated.

Hotel is located in a great location, staff was very nice trying to help accommodate a room gaff through a 3rd party app, couldn’t be resolved because they overbooked the hotel but they tried. Problem was once we settled in and took our showers after a long day, we climbed in the bed to discover blood stains, fresh looking ones, on our pillows AND sheets. I went to the front desk and they couldn’t move us because the room was overbooked. So they brought me a fresh set of sheets so I could make my own bed with them…they didn’t even offer to remove the bloody sheets from my room, they are laying in the corner of my room as I type this.Turns out they didn’t bring new pillow cases or a fitted sheet and I had to go back down to the lobby and stand there with my bloody pillow case to drive the point home, then still had to stand there for five minutes while they got me a new set of sheets to make my own bed with. They were very apologetic but really did very little to resolve or rectify the situation. Do not stay here.
