Last Andiamo restaurant experience was seven years ago because quite frankly the food was subpar and I gave up. I heard that the Riverfront is different than the other locations so I wanted to be fair and give this location a try. It’s white cloth with valet overlooking the Detroit River. The downside is if you’re having dinner and want patio seating you’re in the shade and to be fair the Canadians have a better riverfront view than we do of their side, unless your idea of city lights and skyline is a Canadian Casino, some houses and what look like factories to me. The service was stellar, absolutely, the employees are very well chosen and very well trained, and genuinely I feel they like their jobs. There is also a good chance you’ll run into celebrities and sports celebrities. The furniture is very comfortable, again did I mention the service was outstanding? Unfortunately it’s a restaurant and not a hotel, so food carries the highest weight for rating. Bottom line it was... better. It was not superior Italian dining. The minestrone came in a miniature pot with a lid, at first I thought I was going to have to cook it myself (it’s a bad joke I know). But it smelled homemade. Under seasoned, and not as flavorful as it smelled. The ravioli I didn’t even take a picture of because it just wasn’t photo worthy. Needs work on presentation and considering they ran out of the meat ravioli the cheese ravioli needed something to cut the dish, we asked for some steamed veggies on the side. The rouge sauce that came with the side of pasta, eh I didn’t really care for it. Would have been better they skipped the cream and left the hearty acidic tomato shine. Desserts the Creme brûlée was.. almost great, not almost perfect. The s’mores molten lava cake was dry, the sponge needed moisture in some parts, maybe some syrup or something because the parts that were moist were great, the combination really worked. Would I go again? It’s a tough world out there and there are many options in downtown that I’d choose ahead of Riverfront Andiamo. It will be years before I will give them another try. But we’ll done on superior service. Is that the third time I praised their staff?

Andiamo Riverfront Detroit is a true masterpiece that brings together exquisite food, impeccable service, and a view that's nothing short of breathtaking. From the moment you arrive, you're enveloped in an experience that delights every sense. Let's begin with the star of the show: the food. I had the privilege of savoring the Fettuccine Alfredo with scallops, lobster, and shrimp, and it was like an orchestra of flavors dancing in my mouth. The scallops, lightly seared to perfection, offered a sublime buttery taste that was simply divine. The shrimp, a delightful addition, brought a burst of flavor that left me craving for more. And the lobster? Oh, it was beyond amazing, a testament to culinary excellence. Every bite was a crescendo of taste, a journey of flavors that left me in awe. Now, let's talk service. The staff at Andiamo Riverfront Detroit are true professionals, ensuring that your dining experience is nothing short of exceptional. Their attention to detail, warm demeanor, and dedication to making your visit memorable is commendable. And let's not forget the view. The setting, overlooking the riverfront, adds an extra layer of enchantment to your meal. As you savor each bite, you're treated to a panorama that captures the essence of Detroit's beauty. Andiamo Riverfront Detroit is more than just a restaurant; it's a symphony of culinary artistry, service excellence, and scenic wonder. For those seeking an elevated dining experience that indulges the senses and feeds the soul, this is a destination not to be missed. #AndiamoRiverfrontDetroit #CulinaryMasterpiece #ImpeccableService #BreathtakingViews #FlavorfulDelights #FettuccineAlfredoMagic #ScallopsButteryPerfection #DelightfulShrimps #AmazingLobster #HomemadeFettuccineMagic #RestaurantReview #FoodieFinds #GourmetEats #CulinarySymphony #FlavorfulAdventure #FoodieParadise #DetroitDining #TasteBudJourney #FoodLover #FoodieDiscovery #ScenicWonder #FineDining #ElevatedExperience #TasteTheWorld #CulinaryExcellence #ViewToRemember #ElegantDining #SensoryExperience

Andiamo at the Detroit Riverfront is an Italian fine dining restaurant in the Ren Cen building. They have other locations in the suburbs as well. We’ve been to the Bloomfield Twnsp on previous travels and we were happy to see a location in the Ren Cen where we were staying. Food is very fresh, delicious and pastas are made in-house. Jordan our server was friendly and offered excellent suggestions of specialty seasonal items that weren’t on the menu. We started with the calamari that was accompanied by a homemade tomato sauce that had fresh cut basil chiffonades (mini julienne type slice strips). Our salads both house and Caesar were on chilled plates and tasted nice. We then had the seafood Alfredo. Jordan recommended to have the seafood grilled vs sautéed as it would taste amazing. It was devine! The fresh grilled scallops were huge and cooked perfectly. The shrimps had a Cajun like taste and married nicely with the creamy Alfredo. The generous sweet meat lobster tail was accompanied with warm drawn butter. We also had the Veal Milanese which was lightly breaded, tender and flavorful with roasted potatoes and green beans. We were so full and although the desert selections looked amazing, we wanted something light. I asked Jordan if they had spumoni ice cream. He didn’t disappoint! That was the best spumoni ice cream I’ve had in ages. Beautiful flecks of kirsch cherry, chocolate ribbons and other bursts of flavor was perfect. Great place for any occasion or just to treat yourself. Authentic fresh Italian flavors abound! Grazi Andiamo for a beautiful meal!

My wife and I visited Andiamo on August, 3rd 2018. We at reservations at 5:15 and were seated promptly. Our waiter was Nikolas K. My order was simple just the Pasta Andiamo, the kid Pizza and the wife ordered the "Special" which was an 8oz Filet, with Shrimp, 2 Scallops and veggies. The kids pizza was sloppy, basically cheese thrown on a pita... My Pasta was great, really good and well provisioned. The wifes Filet special which costed $70.85 was pricey but was sold as a bargain. My wife who worked a "butcher" and a meat manager for years knows STEAKS, She can tell right off the cuff, the cuts, what prime and what is not and of course the costs. One thing is you cant fool her with Petite Sirloin sold as a Filet Mignon. If it wasnt for that huge mushroom they put on top of the Petite Sirloin then we would have returned it to the waiter immediately. We asked the waiter Nikolas K to speak to the chef or the manager, After 10 minutes he came back and said no one was available but offered us a desert that we never asked for. So even though the location is great with views, the fact is that food experience was poor. For an early Friday evening I expected better. Personally, I think a chargeback is in order since the restaurant made no attempt to resolve.

We had reservations for 2 people both times. We had dinner there Thursday 5-8-25 @ 7 pm. Then again on Friday 5-9-25 @ 4:30 pm. I will start with Thursday we were staying at the Ren Center. We were on time for our reservation. The hostess said she is seating us in the Winter Garden (fancy name for the food court across from Panera Bread). I asked about sitting in the restaurant. She said that it was for groups of more than 4 people. I explained it did not say that when I made the reservation. She said it was also nice in the garden with a view of the river. We had a trash can next to the table & a trash can outside in front of the window. Plus there were 3 people outside of the window smoking by the trash can. So we were not going to keep our Friday night reservation because of the great time and seating we had before. However you have to cancel 24 hours in advance or pay $25.00 per person for a no-show. So we went on Friday @ 4:30 we got to sit inside the restaurant this time and everything was just okay. For 2 of us for 2 nights we spent $160.00 on the dinners with water & soda. No alcohol either night. I cannot ever recommend having dinner here.
