N'Namdi Center for Contemporary Art — Attraction in Detroit

My wife and I were invited into the gallery by an older gentleman who i believe worked there, yesterday. After looking at all of the beautiful paintings, we spoke with him for several minutes about what they made us feel, and the crazy things that have been happening. He was the kindest, wisest soul and it made the experience all the better. The gallery made us feel so many emotions all at once, and it was so cool to talk about them with this man. Wonderful, as a child ( little bitty ), my apartment building was next door. ( the fast food restaurant on the corner on Woodward across the street from the gas station ) Being an Artist myself and one who appreciates fine art, I must say I was extremely empress and fascinated by every picture and structural art displayed. I live in Atlanta now. I was raised in Detroit. That very building with the beautiful art, use to be a science center in the 60's and 70's........ Ps...You've done a very good job. I really enjoyed this art gallery! Tha atmosphere, staff, and art were all so amazing. I went here because I have a creative writing class assignment, and I went here to look at different artworks to inspire my writing. Darcel Deneau's work really struck out to me and I've decided to write 7 (ekphrastic) poems/works about his Life Continues As Usual-- I'm really excited that N'Namdi's Center was here so I can do this.
