I had the distinct pleasure of dining at Mezcal in Detroit with my esteemed colleagues, and the experience was nothing short of exquisite. The culinary journey embarked upon was a symphony of flavors that left an indelible mark on our palates.
The tacos, crafted with utmost artistry, were a revelation of authenticity and creativity. Each bite was a harmonious blend of textures and tastes, a testament to the culinary mastery that Mezcal possesses. The succulent meats, perfectly seasoned, were encased in delicate tortillas, delivering a delectable sensation that can only be described as sheer culinary poetry.
The mojitos, with their refreshing blend of fresh mint and zesty lime, were the perfect accompaniment to our meal. Sipped slowly, they transported us to a place of relaxation and bliss, providing a refreshing counterpoint to the bold flavors of the tacos.
And then, there was the flan â a culinary masterpiece that transcended mere dessert. It was a velvety, caramel-infused delight that melted in our mouths, leaving us in awe of the culinary artistry that Mezcal consistently exhibits.
The ambiance was equally enchanting, with a warm and inviting decor that created an atmosphere of conviviality and celebration. The service, attentive and knowledgeable, added to the overall charm of our evening.
In conclusion, Mezcal in Detroit is not merely a restaurant; it is an enchanting culinary haven where the tacos, mojitos, and flan are but a few jewels in a crown of gastronomic excellence. This establishment has earned its place among the stars, and I wholeheartedly bestow upon it a well-deserved five-star rating. Our dining experience was nothing short of a mariachi symphony, and I eagerly anticipate my next visit to this...
Read moreSo this past Wednesday my friends and I were headed to the baseball game but it got rained out, so we decided to go to this Mexican place Mezcal I saved in my IG restaurants, because it's new and I have really been wanting to try it. 1st impression when we walked in, it's super cute really nice vibe, the staff was so nice and welcoming, wasn't crowded at all, we were seated right away.
Lets get into the food and drinks, I ordered a Margarita, it did not disappoint. With this being our first time there we didn't know what to eat, so the waiter had great suggestions. We started with the chicken nachos for appetizer, and it was amazing, 3 people ate off of it and we still had some left over. The cheese was cheesin, quacamole fresh, chicken seasoned perfectly, and the veggies were delicious. It's a must try. Then we had Esquites, its mexican street corn off the cob, its the best thing ever. The tacos! OMG. We had the shrimp tacos which I could have had 10 of them. Sooooooo good, the sprinkle of lime juice just topped them off, the cheese inside was just right, the shrimp was cooked perfectly, my mouth is watering thinking about it. We also ordered I pork tacos it's the birria taco with the sauce on the side. And it was amazing. For desert we had the carmel popcorn cornbread. TRUST ME JUST ORDER IT!!! This place did not disappoint I can't wait to go back and try more dishes. Thank you for a great 1st experience, we will...
Read moreI'm starting out with the bad.... Owners, please take note.
We had a fantastic meal that was just about ruined for me by the BLASTING REGGAETON music. For those who aren't familiar, Reggaeton is a genre of music that uses the same exact drum pattern in each song. It is numbing, exhausting, and appropriate for a dance club or bar, but not for a nice restaurant. It was so loud that I could not understand the person sitting across the table from me. Some variety would be nice, as would a reduction in volume which would make it bearable. I just don't get a restaurant playing music at this volume constantly. The room was good looking but vibe was ruined by the music. Dropping a star for this.
Other than that, we really liked it. Food was almost uniformly excellent. I didn't love the pot stickers, but the queso, salsa and guacamole were excellent. Birria tacos were top notch, everybody loved their fajitas. Rice and beans both excellent.
Note for vegans - my wife had vegan pastor, which was mind-blowing good. Just amazing.
Cocktails were excellent.
Desserts were excellent. Tres leches was huge and delicious, everybody liked the creme brulee, and the pan de elote was liked as well.
Great service.
A solid 5-star place except for...
