The food adventure starts at Savvy Sliders, 4650 Woodward Ave, Detroit, MI 48201. Where we saw a clean with a modern minimalist aesthetic. The lighting was perfectly dim and the music was giving what it was supposed to be giving. The staff was kind, respectful and understanding. Customer service was a 5/5. They open from 7 am to 1 am giving us an open slot for late night drives and only 9 minutes away! There was a huge parking lot which is an easy grab and go place for last minute brunches or dinner. The food was giving flavor. It was giving the pacific ocean. They didn't hesitate on that salt intake. They wanted us to go home with high blood pressure and heart disease but would have been so worth it with the lemon pepper fries. Iām telling you this wasnāt ordinary fries it was so good that the after taste had me tasting. Moving on to the sauce they thought they did something making it taste like barbecue chips. Not a great combination, let's pretend they didn't make that mistake. What if I told you the fries werenāt the only monster flavoring beast they had on the menu? Would you believe me? The chicken sliders! It got me crunching and munching. The freshness of the bread gave the chicken flavor a boost so high it breezed through the dry dense chicken. They ate with the flavoring of the chicken though. Just take a minute and imagine how the falafel sliders would taste because I'm planning my next drive there because this place is so underrated. The french fry sauce game came to disappointment but the chicken fingers decided to take the win and carried the crown while digging the savvy sauce into its very own grave. They had this gooey sweet and sour sauce that scoops up the missing flavor the chicken fingers needed. I'm going to be honest they didn't look like chicken fingers, it looked more like their palms but that's forgiven I guess. Sadly the salad wanted to ruin my day and freeze my taste buds for the day. The salad part was great honestly also was the chicken, it was just the salt. It tasted as if I dipped it in salt and the whole experience of trying it was disappointing. The rest of the food had brought my expectations so high I was ready to be taking my taste buds on through a new roller coaster but it went straight to the dumpster and next to the ā dont keep pileā. I forgive this mistake as well just because of the rest of the items and the amazing customer service and the price was only $33 total. I rate savvy slider with a ā star rating. I would definitely recommend it and will be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: I never got a single response from the corporate office and had to submit a credit card dispute. It has been 2 months since they charged me and I'm still having to deal with this while the dispute is pending. Happy w the individual store and food, not so much with corporate or Doordash. The food was great and the staff very helpful and professional - though corporate might want to rethink their relationship with DoorDash.
I placed a large order to feed 50+ volunteers dinner two weeks before an event directly on Savvy's website. 30 min before expected delivery I received a text that the order was being made. 20 min later I received a text that my order was cancelled. I called the number provided, which took me to DoorDash and they told me the store had a technical problem, were unable to receive my order, and my order was cancelled; I would receive a refund in 7-10 days (I paid 14 days before the event and a week later I'm still not seeing the delivery and tip refund pending).
I called the store directly and they had my order, would have it ready soon but because of DoorDash were unable to deliver, someone would need to pick it up. The good news of running a volunteer event is that people volunteer to help and someone was able to pick up the order, but this took them away from their primary task. The manager and staff were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating of our large order. Dinner was only a little late because of their actions. The volunteers were excited for food that wasn't pizza and were very pleased with the...
