In November 2016, when I called Complete Bridal to schedule an appointment, they were booked for many days and David was extremely accommodating and found a time that he can fit me in. Between my party and I and Luis, our fashion expert, we pulled about 12-14 dresses to try on. I appreciated Luis's honesty and advice as I was trying the dresses on. I did narrow it down to about 3 and once I was jacked up I found and said yes to my dress. Complete Bridal was my first stop for dress shopping and the last stop for dress shopping. Thank you to David and Luis! I would recommend Complete Bridal to everyone! SO this was my review after my first time there as well as it being the day I found my dress. However, as a few others wrote in their reviews as well, the initial appointment goes great and they treat you well but then after you are done and paid, you get excuses upon excuses of why your dress is not there yet. I should have really read up on reviews a lot more thoroughly however I figure I give them the benefit of the doubt. I REGRET MY DECISION IN DOING THAT! I was told that my dress would come in July 2017. I called the shop in mid-June to check up on the status of my dress and David had told me that it should be here in July. I call again mid-July, as I havenât heard from David yet, to check on the status and he told me that my dress is not in yet and he will call the manufacturer. He calls them and not long after he calls to tell me 7-10 more days. I gave it 10 days and then I went into the shop, very upset, and had asked where my dress is and he proceeded to give me some sob stories and ridiculous excuses as to why it STILL didnât come in. He mentioned that he possibly got some dresses in and they werenât labeled as to whoâs they were and if I can come by again later or the next day to try them on. I go in the next day and I try on these random dresses that definitely were not mine, so I get even more upset. He shows me the invoice and how he changed the date to a month prior to the wedding to ensure proper delivery. At that point, I wouldnât be surprised if he just changed that, the day before. He gave me the number to the manufacturer contact âAlpha,â and told me to call him to check on the status. I call him and he texts me, on July 31, telling me âyour dress will be ready by around 8-20-17.â I was livid and stressing that I was supposedly going to get my dress with less than a month away from my wedding. I contacted âAlphaâ again on Aug. 7th and had asked the status of my dress and he texts me the next day âyour dress has arrived at Davidâs store.â I went in to try on my dress the day after it arrived and when I got to the shop, it was still packaged and sitting on a chair along with many other dresses. I tried it on and at that point I was already unhappy with the experience that my feelings havenât changed. Compared to the sample dress, there were more lace appliques (which I didnât care for) around the dropped waist area that led into the tulle bottom as well as poorly sewn appliques around the neckline and throughout the dress. I just wanted to grab the dress and be done with dealing with Complete Bridal. This was by far the worst experience that I had when planning my wedding and it should actually be one of the most enjoyable experiences as a bride looking for her dream dress. The dress experience at Complete Bridal was the most stressful part of my wedding I would not recommend anyone coming to this place unless you want to get the run around of where your dress is and wait until close to your wedding day to...
Read moreI cannot even begin to tell you the most wonderful (& a little turbulent) experience I had at Bridal Boys. In June of 2021 I started the hunt for my wedding dress, I knew I wanted a black dress, there was no compromise on that. The day I went to Bridal Boys, I had booked appointments at two other bridal shops as well. I also had originally fallen in love with a dress off of Etsy & really was looking to see if the style I had fallen in love with, looked good on me (spoiler alert, it did not!!!). Anyway, the owner, David had called me to ask me some questions prior to my appointment, he saw I was looking for an all black dress. Our phone conversation was wonderful. After that, I went into the shop & let me tell you, he was one of the most charismatic, vivacious, & genuine people I have EVER come across. He wanted ME to find a dress I really loved. At the time, he didnât have any black dresses in the store. But we found a dress that I had fallen in love with. I didnât say yes right away, I had gone to my other appointment at another bridal shop in McHenry (wonât name names) & they just were plain awful. I cancelled the appointment at the third shop (it was just Davidâs bridal, so no biggie there) & drove straight back to their shop to order the dress I had fallen in love with. It was originally a blush pink with what they called âcrackedâ ice underlay, which was absolutely stunning. He was ordering it custom for me, in black. I was ECSTATIC. He also had called me a few days later, because a bridal show he went to, debuted an all black dress & wanted me to try it on! So I did, but I just didnât like it as much as the one I was getting custom made. This brings us to February of 2022, I checked in with the shop to see if my dress would be in soon, he gave me an estimate of late February for my dress to come in, David said he hadnât heard anything from the manufacturer & was going to look into itâŚWell, this is the bad part, turned out there was a fire in the warehouse where the lace was being manufactured & it had happened in October of 2021!!! No one told him this!! This also affected twelve other brides! He told me that he would fix this & get the manufacturer to send him more dresses in, which they did. I went in for a SECOND time. David was so apologetic & was so incredibly sweet. He told me out of all of the girls this had affected, he was concerned about me the most. He told me that he actually cried & lost sleep over it, & he even had tears in his eyes while saying this to me. He had five dresses for me to try on, a couple all black, a BEAUTIFUL blush dress with black appliquĂŠs, & I think there was another. I tried them all on, but the last one I tried on, which was separated from the rest, is the one I fell in absolute love with. It was the most âmeâ dress I had ever seen. It was the âgoth princessâ dress of my dreams. When I put it on in the fitting room, I knew it was the one. & then I looked in the mirror & my mom & best friend knew this was the one. He didnât charge me any more than what I had paid (I had paid my original dress in full) & was handing me the dress right then & there!! He probably saw how shocked we were & offered to hold it at his shop until I needed to get it altered.
I am eternally grateful for David (& all of the girls that worked there), he just wants the best for his clients & is an extremely genuine person. I will cherish the moments I had at that bridal shop. Thank you so much everyone on the Bridal Boys team, especially David. Whoâs humor & kindness, really made finding the dress of my...
Read moreok let me first say I had ONE good experience here... The day I picked out my dress. I ordered it Jan of 2013, it was due in July 28th 2013, when this date approached I called the store to check in, I was promptly told, Oh NO it is due to SHIP that date, expect your dress in 6 weeks.... I gave 7 due to the dates landing around a holiday. I called to check on my dress, they had to call the distributor to find out about it, they said they would call me back that day, I never got a call back. 2 days later I went up to the store as it was 5 min down the road from where I live. They had to call and ask about my dress again. over a week passed, I had to call AGAIN at this time I was asked to come in and try on some dresses my dress had not shipped yet, and they wanted to give me a chance to try on the new styles that had came in. lets not forget my dress i ordered was already paid in full in June. I said fine, but still wanted the dress I ordered in JANUARY. My dress was FINALLY going to be ordered I stayed as the owner called them to send it.. he had to leave a message. a few weeks later when i was then told Oh your dress came in but it was the wrong color ( after I called to check on its status) , it came in white I ordred IVORY. It was to be sent back again in the correct color. it was going to be sent over night to come back. It was at this point it is now NOVEMBER 14TH to be exact. My next dress fitting was December 2nd, i planned on one last alteration for a part to be taken in after the length and bustle were already completed. my last fitting and to pick up the dress for my wedding was Jan 25th, I had a destination wedding in mexico leaving just barely over a week later... I went to place my dress on and IT WAS NEVER FINISHED!!!! apparently the alterations lady went to Guadalajara or something my Dress sat over a MONTH and a HALF with no one completing it. The owner had to call an alterations person who by the way was clearly NOT at my fitting to be sure all the work was completed (her assistant had to be called since the main person was still ovb. gone) They wanted me to pick it up 6 days later, I said NO, the earliest I was told i could was Wed (less then one week from when I was to leave the country) PISSED OFF DOESN'T even begin to cover what was running thru my mind. The owner said this could not reflect poorly on him because it was not his fault, Well sorry but you chose to utilize a specific seamstress (rosies) in your salon, it most certainly reflects poor on you if work is not completed on time. MY opinion is stay away, to many small issues of asking where my dress is and feeling pressured and as many times as I was in the store I had to re-live mult of the same questions... just steer clear or lie by 3mo for your dress, and DO NOT use the alterations...
