My family and I have been in on several different occasions. Sometimes all together, and occasionally separate as well. On all visits, we walked away with a great experience. The staff are always kind and accommodating to special requests, they take the time to help you with menu items if needed, and they never make you feel rushed. I've fallen in love with the Greek Frappe as my occasional treat when I don't want just my regular coffee or lattes, and I would have never tried it to begin with if the staff hadn't spent the time with me to talk about the menu. We also have tried a lot of their menu items over the past year or so of going in occasionally. Their biscuits are fresh and delicious every time, we love their gravy and quiche (although I wish it were bigger, mainly because we always want more :-) ), and their gelato is also very yummy. If you're ever in and on a budget but want a little something along with your coffee, look for the day old bakery items near the register, they sell items made the day before for a discounted price, and I pick up one almost every time I am in and have not been disappointed yet! The atmosphere is great, standard seating for a coffee shop (although since they're getting more popular with locals it does get a bit crowded sometimes), it is very clean and ultimately the space and the staff make for a very nice experience when grabbing a cup of coffee or snack. Can't wait to come...
Read moreCame and ordered a double shot espresso and a piece of carrot cake. The carrot cakes are not large pieces, in fact they are quite tiny. Dude rang me up and said $11 something?! Small piece of cake and a double espresso. The espresso was about $3 dollars, asked how much the carrot cake was, he said over $7, I think 7.99 Maybe that’s why there’s a whole shelf of them and they are closing in a couple hours. Does that mean tomorrow we’ll get to get day old carrot cakes for $7? Or are these ones old too? Don’t know but there’s at least ten of these small pieces there.
I didn’t get the carrot cake but got a small red velvet roll for 3.99. Still Pricey considering it was a small slice. It was tasty but nothing out of this world.
Still can’t get over price of the tiny carrot cake. I asked is that really the price? I thought it maybe been a mistake, and the other girl got defensive “we don’t make the prices” which was a little off putting, wasn’t trying to argue just make sure that was correct.
Coffee is okay, served espresso for here in a paper cup, seems wasteful, and not a real coffee shop experience and no sparkling water was offered with the espresso, which isn’t necessarily standard but I notice that most good coffee shops provide that with straight espresso ☕️ .
Over all this is a pretty standard coffee shop bakery, no real passion for coffee, they are open until 8 PM which is cool, indoor seating...
Read moreafter some struggle of the first a couple of years, i think this place finally found its suitable identity and a place in the booming dunedin restaurant scene. when we went back for the first time a month ago, we were pleasantly surprised to see real bakery items, and more so that place was finally nicely furnished and no longer felt like an austere make shift shack. their puffs are my favorite - both spinach and ground beef are delicious! they still have a few "gelati" left. but i can tell you they are not gelato - they taste nice but more like sorbet. i like the bistro chairs and table outside. my only complaint about this place is it is very pricey. pastry puffs are ok, but $4 for tiny scoop of sorbet (i know how cheap it is to make sorbet as own a ice cream shop in MD myself! 🤣) i will go back some times, but not as often as i would like because of the price. also, the staff always seemed disorganized and poorly trained that they lack the basic customer service skills - e.g. last two times we went, i had to tell the girl that i was not done with placing my orders yet! (she turned her back on us and started doing other stuff after i only managed to tell her our...
