Before you go! SPA SPA tower room Food options Aqua Pool Cabana Rentals Vegetarian foods Smash burger Bamboo noodle bar
I’ll try to wrap this up. Valet is FREE if you are staying but remember all valet expects payment to park and retrieve your car.
Ventilation in our opinion seemed poor/lacking. We are non smokers and there is a small non smoking gambling room option if you prefer. Just look up and see the ceiling tiles.
Spa tower room on 13th floor was quite peaceful although you can still hear others in the hall and moving about their rooms. Pedestrian Traffic was very low in this building. Beds had sheet and one comforter, 4 pillows. No extra bedding in our room. Bed was very comfortable however we fetched more bedding from the car to get cozy.
Thermostat is somewhat “locked” as it will not allow you to choose fan option to run constantly. Auto only at low medium high so if you need a fan noise to sleep or want air moving at all times, take your own fan. AC was leaking as the carpet was saturated near it. We only found out once we took our shoes off and got our socks wet unintentionally.
Nice Hot water, plenty of toiletries. Large showers.View was earth suite 10/10!
Housekeeping did NOT show up. Front desk did not tell us we had to ask for it so I’m unsure if it’s included or not. They did honor a late check out however.
Spa: Couples renewal massage 90 min was $390.00 and online it tells you a small gratuity and resort fees are added. I went to pay and my ticket was $468.00 because it was NOT included after all. So I then had to pay GRATUITY to our massage therapists because the fee included does not go to them. Also note On weekends couples are not allowed to use the in room spa rain shower so we paid a total of $468.00 for couples massage plus $120.00 in gratuity to go to both therapists. $588.00 for basic couples massage. On top of it all, the hot tub was down in men’s locker room and steam room was down in women’s so minimal amenities were available. No discounts for this. The only plus from the spa was LaHanna and Noa ant how great they are at their services. We had the best massages we’ve had in a long time! ImI have worked spas and in my opinion that was worth $300.00 at most.
Service across the board is lacking. I have such a long list of specifics but I won’t bother. Don’t expect to get all smiles the entire time especially from the girl working at smash burger rolling her eyes at everyone.
Bamboo noodle bar is good but expect to wait in line 20-30 min to order and another 15 for food. We were seeking vegetarian options so this was a favorite as smash burger does not offer their black bean burger anymore. More options at other restaurants however.
Cabana…sigh. On weekdays you pay $250.00 a cabana for two lounge chairs a small loveseat a few chairs, portable ac unit, a mini fridge, tv and safe. Umbrella as well. You can check in the day of your rental at 11:00 despite the website saying 3:00 pm. We tried to check in at 12 and was told the host was unavailable and a manager would have to help. We waited 20 min with no manager in sight. They took my name and number and said they would call me. I went to change and eat lunch and came back at 1:30 ish and was told a manager would have to check me in. The manager passed by several times. At 1:48 when no one came to help, I found a cabana and helped myself. We did not get any in cabana service until 4:58 pm, we were left to fetch our own food and drinks. We had to figure out the AC unit, safe, open our own umbrellas etc and was brought drinks one time. We were told by the waiter that a big group HMA was overwhelming them and they couldn’t help us. 7:30 the staff began closing up our umbrella, changing our lounge chairs to upright, tying back our shades as they seemed in a rush to close up and get out of there even though they close at 8:00pm. No manager ever showed up. Do NOT rent. There are plenty of lounge chairs in the pool and umbrellas scattered about for shade. Saturday - Monday cost $796.00 rooms. $$588.00 massages. Then...
Read moreThis was the first and the last time we will stay at the Choktaw casino. 2 months ago we booked a premium king room with a balcony at the Sky Tower. I requested a room as close to elevator as possible. I have severe arthritis in both knees and walking long distances is painful. When we got off the elevator and walked to the room, it was just about a quarter of a mile walk. When we got in the room I called down to the front desk and asked if we could change the room to one closer to the elevator. I was told that they were completely booked. I asked if all of the guests who had booked rooms had arrived as it was 1:30 and checking time is 3:00. I asked if it would be possible to change rooms with a room where the guests had not yet checked in. I was quickly told, "No changes" I explained that when I booked the Room 2 months ago I requested a room close to the elevator. I was told, " Requests are not guaranteed" Then she added, "You know, you don't have to stay here". Nice customer service. The dining room service is only through the Salt and Stone restaurant. Breakfast has only 5 items to choose from. Lunch has only 6 choices to choose from. Dinner has 6 choices as well and 3 of them are from the lunch menu. They also offer soup $9 & $12 and a Caeser salad w/chicken $22. The first night we ordered room service. A cheeseburger with fries, the Caesar salad a bowl of soup and 3 bottles of water. The cheeseburger was ordered medium but it looked and tasted like it had been on the flat top for a week. I did not eat it because it was dry, hard to chew and swallow. The soup while it was good. The salad was also okay. The bottles of water were over priced at $4 each. That disgusting meal cost us $83!! Apparently we did not learn our lesson and decided to order lunch the next day. We ordered a Turkey club on white toast $22, to share and a cup of soup and 2 bottles of water. That cost $51. A Turkey club should consist of 3 slices of toasted bread, Turkey, bacon, cheese, lettuce and tomato and Mayo. However not this one...The bread was not toasted, There was no Mayo, No cheese and the Turkey was the kind of cheap lunch meat Turkey that you could buy at a local supermarket. There were only 2 slices of bread and the sandwich was cut diagonally once. So I basically paid for a crappy dry turkey sandwich on white bread instead of a Turkey Club. The food was horrific and extremely over priced. We had dinner that night at the smashburger in the casino. 2 burgers 2 fries and one drink for $22. How much better deal. The room does not have a hair dryer or a microwave. So heating up any cold food was not happening. The light system in the room is ridiculous. The switch by the front door controls the entire room including the bathroom. So every time at night when you went to go to the bathroom you had to go to the front door hit the switch go in the bathroom hit another switch and then the light in the bathroom would come on. Just the opposite to turn it off. And every time you hit the switch by the front door the light in the bedroom goes on. It's a stupid set up. We got this room in particular because it had a balcony which we were hoping to enjoy sitting on at night. However there is a light that runs along underside of the railing that when it turns on a million flying insects and bugs and crawling things are all over the balcony preventing anyone from standing out there for more than 10 seconds. A complete waste of money. In the sky tower there are tons of slot machines. I could only find about 12 game tables. I was told there are many more tables with lower minimums in the Grand Casino but the walk is about 3/4 of mile away. So we didn't go there. Overall we paid way too much and got very little for it. I do not recommend staying at the casino in the Sky Tower. Huge disappointment. Before we came to the casino, we had spent 2 nights at the Holiday Inn express about a mile away. It was a much better experience at a quarter...
Read moreI'll never stay at this hotel again and I warn others about staying here during bad weather. My fiancé and I had tickets to see Reba McIntyre at the Choctaw theater in Durant. We decided to stay the night here also. We checked in fine and the room was nice. We decided to get dinner in the Grand Cafe. We wandered all over the casino trying to find it, even looking at all the "street signs" that pointed the way to various restaurants, but none of them showed the way to the Cafe. I looked on the casino website for a map, but found none. We went to the front desk to ask for a map of where everything is located and was told they didn't have one (which i thought to be odd since all the casino resorts in CA provide maps). We had to ask where the Cafe was located and was told it was on the far left in the corner. With other things blocking our view, we didn't see the sign of the cafe until we were standing directly in front of the Cafe entrance. We were seated quickly. We sat for 10 minutes and the manager came over to ask if our drink order had been taken yet. We said no, so he took our order and brought those to us right away. 10 minutes later, a young guy came rushing over apologizing, saying he didn't our table was his. He took our order, brought it out when it was ready, then we didn't see him again. We had to ask the manager for our ticket, he went to get our waiter who came over with it. The food was good and the portions are big, so we did like the Cafe, even with bad service. All was good with the concert and our evening in our room. The next morning, we got up to get ready to check out and noticed the lights started going off for about a minute, then came back on. About 5 minutes later, they went off again. This happened 2 more times. I tried to call the front desk, but each time I called all I got was a busy signal. Then we heard people in the hallway saying they had to use the stairs because the elevator wasn't working. Once the lights had been on for a steady 30 minutes, I felt it was safe to take a shower. I turned on the shower and the water trickled out. I turned the handle all the way on, but no water pressure. I tried the front desk again, busy signal. We heard someone say the elevator was working again, so we decided to just dress quickly and catch the elevator while it was still operating (we were on the 9th floor). We thankfully didn't have any issues with the elevator and went to check out. There was a long line of people waiting. Heard about problems with computers, so only 2 clerks were checking out guests, who were taking a long time since everyone was complaining. After 20 minutes standing in line, we finally reached the desk. By that time a manager was at that computer. I told him we weren't able to take showers, he replied "sorry ". I asked what the issue was and was given the lame excuse that it was weather related issues. Really? All morning we had steady rain, but no thunder or lightning or Hail or tornadoes...nothing that could understandably cause electrical issues. As the manager didn't seem to care that we had an unpleasant morning due to their electrical problems, we just left. My thoughts are, if you are going to build a large cadino in an area that gets heavy rain, hail, tornadoes and such quite often, then you might want to put money in for a terrific back up generator system. We heard the casino machines never lost power. Apparently they're all on backup power. But who gives a shit about the guests. If they have problems when just some normal rain comes through, then I'll never risk staying at that hotel again. To make matters worse, when I got home and compared my reservation pricing to what I was charged after checking out, I saw their resort fee was higher than what I was told it would be. When I called to ask them to honor the price I was given when I made the reservations, I was told their resort fee had risen and they weren't going to give me a refund on the difference of prices. Why am I...
