I LOVE Goodwill. I've found wonderful secondhand items at many different locations. I've been to this location many many times, and I have to say that over the last two years or so I've noticed that this particular Goodwill's prices have become outrageous. I understand the premise behind Goodwill- you're paying money for things they mostly receive as donations, and it goes toward paying their employees- and I think that's wonderful, and is a big reason that I continue to support other Goodwill locations.
But really...the Goodwill on Rohrerstown Road has just gotten ridiculous in their pricing. The last time I was in (about a week ago) my husband and I balked at the insane prices- a small glass frog, no more than two inches tall, and that was not any type of name brand had a $6.99 price sticker- that's crazy! And that's just a very small example. Several of the other customers that day talked with us about how they couldn't believe the high prices- I recommended them to check out some other thrift stores that don't gouge their customers, as well as other Goodwill locations that are reasonably priced- which, I'm sorry, but you're a thrift store. You should be reasonably priced!
Although I think the prices are out of control at this location, I will say that the employees have always been polite to me and other customers while I've been there. I will continue to support Goodwill as a company by enjoying my local Mount Joy location, who's prices are...
Read moreI had a lot of items in my cart however there was a paper towel roll holder for 6.99 but the actual tag said 4.99. Jimmy the Manager was highly rude and wouldn't mark it because his " Manager is always right." When I asked to speak to someone higher he got a smirk on his face and was like "I'm the highest manager here." I told him that he was not good in customer service and that he should really take that into consideration. I walked out of the store without anything I had a good amount there that would have supported Goodwill. However with an arrogant manager like him I will not be shopping there. I have learned good customer service. He didn't give good customer service and why on principle would you knowingly overprice an item when it has a cheaper price on it? That is just bad customer...
Read moreI've been shopping this store for more than 15 years. It makes me so sad that it's become about the absolute worst Keystone Area goodwill. The prices are now insane, trying to get ebay prices for untested items with no return policy. They have dollar tree items for twice as much as the dollar tree a few stores down. Today, halfway through November, they have barely any coats or sweaters, but half a dozen aisles of short sleeved stuff? And worst, it's so poorly stocked it's barely worth looking at anymore. The hardgoods section is almost always at about 30% shelf capacity, with nothing left but the dregs nobody wants that probably shouldn't have even gone to the floor. This store needs an overhaul (management?) or closure, it just doesn't meet the standards of the...
