Iâve been bringing my son to the same barber for years, but we needed a last-minute haircut on a day when our regular barber wasnât available. I found this barbershop and decided to give it a try based on the positive initial interaction I had over the phone. Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing and frustrating, despite the haircut turning out great.
When I called to book the appointment, I spoke with a polite and helpful woman who assured me they could fit my son in for a kidsâ cut. After a brief hold to check availability, she told the name of who heâd be seeing and that heâs located on the lower level of the shop. She initially quoted the price as $30, which I felt was a bit high compared to what I normally pay ($25 - which I have been told is much higher than the areas average rate for a kids haircut). When I mentioned this, she adjusted her response and said the price could be $25-$30. Based on this range, I agreed to book the appointment.
However, the woman did not explain the shopâs pricing structure or that the two levels represented different levels of experience. Apparently, the upstairs barbers are more experienced and charge higher prices, while the downstairs barbers are less experienced and cost less. This was never clarified to me during our call, leaving me with no idea what to expect when I sent my son with his father.
Things took a confusing turn once they arrived. My sonâs father called to tell me the barber had quoted $40 for the haircutâmuch higher than the $25-$30 price I was given. He then told me someone downstairs offered to do the haircut for $35, and finally, another barber stepped in and said they would do it for $30. This back-and-forth âprice negotiationâ felt chaotic and awkwardly unprofessional, especially since I had already booked an appointment with a specific person and had been given the price point.
On top of that, my sonâs father had to leave to go to the bank because this barber didnât accept the form of payment he had. (This was a completely different person - not who was said to be taking care of my son haircut when I called) I wasnât informed about this ahead of time, which was embarrassing and frustrating, as I had already sent him the money for the appointment, expecting it to be a simple process.
While the haircut itself turned out great, the experience was completely overshadowed by the poor communication and lack of transparency. As someone who has worked in the industry, I found this situation highly unusual and frustrating. Parents should be given clear and accurate information when booking an appointment, especially regarding pricing, the experience level of the staff, and how services are handled. I would have appreciated being informed upfront about the two levels, their pricing differences, the possibility of changing barbers and prices upon arrival, and an idea of the shopâs payment policies.
Bartering over prices with a child and not honoring the original appointment details made the experience feel unprofessional and left a bad impression. If I had known this could happen, I wouldnât have booked the appointment, as it caused unnecessary tension between me and my sonâs father.
While the haircut was good, the lack of clarity and professionalism during the process makes it hard for me to recommend this shop. If you decide to book here, just be aware that if youâre on a budget of any kind - I suggest you ask questions about pricing, skill levels, and payment policies to avoid any confusion...

Read moreWorst barber shop ive ever been to ! I called at 3 asking when would be the least busiest time to make an appointment 5 or 6 ? The barber said 6 so i made an appointment for 6. At 6 i walked in to an empty waiting area thinking nice ill be in and out. Wrong ! I sat for the next hour and a half and watched as all the barbers took their friends who were walking in off the street ! Then the owner told me know one was avaliable to cut my hair even though i explained i had a 6pm appointment. This place has terrible service and even worse people skills and to be honest im pretty sure they are selling drugs in the back ! Might want to keep children out of this...
