We are so lucky that this wonderful place opened here in our neighborhood!! It has improved our quality of live in East Providence by a lot! I've been here for various live music events including solo guitar shows, open mic nights, and live band karaoke, and I'm looking forward to attending a guitar workshop this weekend. Vibe ranges from "super cozy and intimate late night blues" to "the most insane karaoke night ever experienced" and everything in between, but it is always a great vibe. It's a really friendly crowd and the owners obviously work super hard to create an incredible atmosphere. The cocktails are great as well, and they deserve a shoutout for also having an excellent selection of non-alcohol beers! Which is so appreciated! I honestly had not "gone out" in ages but lately I've made it a point of checking the Myrtle's monthly events calendar and getting there at least 1x a month. Props to you guys, I really appreciate your work. P.S. Google asks for a food rating but it's not a food place. This should not detract from the 5 star rating!!

We love this new place! We moved to the neighborhood from Queens, NY about five years ago. We've been looking for a bar that had both neighborhood vibes and wasn't a total dive. Not that there's anything wrong with dives! But sometimes I want a place where I can wear a nice blouse and not stick out like a sore thumb, but also make friends with the bartenders and other regulars. This place fits that bill and it's the first one we have found like it. We cannot wait to go back! They had house cocktails that were very yummy, the prices were absolutely reasonable, the scene was interesting without being full of 21 year olds. For reference I'm in my late 30s and the other patrons were my age or older. If you are thinking of checking this spot out, GO! It's worth it!

Myrtle is one of the most eclectic and welcoming small bars/music venues in RI, from solo acts and full bands of all genres to movie nights, burlesque, comedy, open mics, and variety shows - Myrtle has it all! The interior decor is cozy & vintage, they keep their bar menu fresh with a good variety of beers, ciders, and award-winning seasonal cocktail recipes, and they have great pop-up food vendors at select events. Owners Tommy & Natalie are very hardworking and accommodating people who really care about local arts in RI and have done such a great job making Myrtle an enjoyable space for everyone! 10/10 would recommend!

Update April 2024: If I am being totally honest the vibe has altered in the last few months. The staff is a tad less welcoming, and the atmosphere is a little less warm. I know their bar manager left and moved away, and I know that the bridge issues have weighed heavily on the owners, but generally what was once a really friendly spot feels slightly more now like you need to be one of the "cool kids" to be hanging out there. Still great tunes and over time their beer options have improved.

This is the place that is so f'n cool that you don't want anyone else to know about it for fear it gets too popular and loses its underground vibe. But the people who run it are just so damned nice that you want to see them be successful so you tell everyone about it.

Plainly stated, this is the venue the area has been missing since the downtown PVD scene was ruined by gentrification. It's kitchy in the best possible way. The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. The emphasis tho is on the music. Any night this spot is open you are likely to hear something that will stick with you for days. Check it out before it gets...

Oh Myrtle, how we love thee. An incredible place for food, drink, and live entertainment that transcends the sum of its parts. For as much as this establishment excels as both bar and venue, and it truly does, what immediately struck me when walking through the door for the first time was the beautiful sense of intentionality found within. From the endlessly interesting retro decor to the warm and welcoming atmosphere, this room has seemingly limitless vibes. A truly unique experience and certainly one to be sought out. Not every city has a Myrtle, but you can't help but imagine how much better off every city would be if they did. Spots like these seem to be rarer and rarer these days so three cheers to Tommy and Natalie for curating such a lovely outpost for connection, one that nobly celebrates the arts and...
