BEWARE APNA BAZAR CUSTOMERS, IF YOU DECIDE TO RETURN AN ITEM YOU MAY FACE AN ARREST. During the first week of July 2014 I bought an 11 lbs box of dates for the price 0f $59.99 brand medjol, we kept the box in a dry cool place and in general dates they last for months, a week later the whole box went bad and smelled awful, the normal thing to do is to take back the merchandise to the store and speak with customer service about this, I took with me my 7 year old son since he is on summer break and when arrived there I requested to see somebody regarding the issue, I was told the manager will be in, in 15 minutes, and when he arrived he looked at the box and said you opened it and ate some of it, I said we bought the dates to eat them not to look at them, out of 11 lbs we only ate less than 3 lbs,, he got very agitated and told me that there is nothing he can do and asked me to leave the store, I insisted that we should resolve the issue, then his tone changed and said " shut your mouth" and continued to talk on his cell phone, 10 minutes later 2 police cars arrived, they spoke with the manager first and then I was approached by one police officer, now keep in mind that my 7 year old son is watching all this and asked me why the police is here and that he was afraid, I assured him that we did not do something wrong, we are only returning a merchandise that went bad, the police officer informed me that the manager made clear that he is not worried about loosing me as a customer and I was requested to leave the store, I was shocked to hear that, not for refusing to resolve the issue but because my impression was that APNA is a chain store and assumed they care about their customers and cater for them. I discovered if you dare to return an item they will call the police for you to scare you and deter you from doing that. all this happened in the store while customers were watching, the police officer informed me that my only option is to complain about the store, I looked at my son and told him that daddy lost $60 today for buying some trash.I left the dates in the store and we...
Read moreAlmost all the Indian groceries and vegetables available here. Stor is big only. Felt hard to get the cart as they were not properly arranged outside. No carts will be available inside the store.
No marks on floor for one way shopping or social distancing in covid-19 situation. People are shopping in any direction where ever they want. Vegetables are low in price here which is awesome. They kept the reduced price of each item outside the store with big letters.
One more special thing is they have fresh food available inside itself such as Roti, Samosa, Bajji etc with reasonable price. This is near vegetable section. Crowd was ok but not too much.
Restroom is available but it won't be visible. We've asked at counter and they guided. It is near 10 where steel items available which is right side of the main entrance. The lights in restroom is automatic, they are next to the door and we had to manually switch on them. Hope that was not for general public but they don't have any restrictions similar to other Indian grocery store.
Payment was not contactless. We've to give the card to them. They do swipe and return back. At counter they don't even display the items list while scanning each item which seems missed here where as it was available it other Indian stores. Entrance & exit doors are automatic.
My friend suggested to buy Telugu pickels which...
