Central City Comics — Attraction in Ellensburg

I do not usually leave negative reviews, but I had a pretty negative experience at this store.

I brought a large quantity of disjointed comic books (several first issues) in to possibly conduct a trade or sale. Before entering the location, I made sure to get a rough estimate of the value I would be willing to part with them for. I was very communicative about which comics I thought were of most value. The owner only ever searched the price of one comic book from the lot. But, he only made me an offer on my lot of 50+ comics. He was highly critical about the very minimal wear on some of the comics. When I indicated to him that I would think about the trade, he got very belligerent. He told me my comic books were trash, and that I was wasting his time. I was honestly appalled at his response. I was considering taking his offer, but I am glad I didn't. He became completely unprofessional when things did not go the way he wanted. Upon returning home, I researched the comics that he called garbage, and many of them are conservatively valued at more than what I was offered for my whole lot.

TLDR- Don't bring comics here unless you are absolutely sure that you are willing to part with them for dirt cheap, otherwise you will be verbally accosted...

Easily my new favorite store! My Wife and I were visiting Ellensburg and were told to check out CCC. We are so glad we did! Gus, the owner was so nice and accommodating! We hung out and talked like we had known each other for years after only 10 minutes in his shop. He had everything we could ever dream of for D&D (Books, Figures, Paint, Maps, Dice, ETC.) about a million Funko Pops, Trading Cards, Comics, Table Top Games, RPGS, Video Games and soooo much more. Prices were fantastic and the vibe of the store was just all around friendly and fun. We live about an hour out of town and are already planning day trips with friends to go back, just for this store! We went twice the 3 days we were in town, but could spend all day, everyday if given the chance! Highly recommend!! Thanks for the awesome experience, Gus!

Honestly as A former " Business Owner" I really don't like to put reviews on line that are not going to help local small businesses, however I can't say that I would ever step foot in that place ever again! I can only say how my 7 yr old son and I were treated, wasn't at all acceptable! I just hope that everyone is not treated with the same disrespect. He was only trying to purchase some merchandise from your store and because of the stress of the day you were having or maybe that's how you treat everyone? Regardless I thought that small business would appreciate the fact that the younger generation is trying to support our local businesses by attempting to buy in our community!
