Mycophilia, on view June 13 - July 26th, Gallery One, Ellensburg, WA. #Mycophilia is a meditation on the unseen threads that weave life together, inspired by the mycelium networks that stitch plants, trees, and ecosystems into quiet conversation. Though our human connections are often invisible, they are essential to our growth, our survival and our flourishing. Mushrooms rise up as humble messengers, reminding us of the unseen worlds that sustain us. I, too, do not exist alone, and neither does my work. Collaboration with my community of friends and family has become an important part of my practice. The textile pieces are stitched by my mother, Diane Burt, with Matriarch woven from fabrics passed down through the hands of women in my family. The clip from Alexandria Boddie’s video piece “Oh, Rosie!” is drawn from a collaboration with my longtime friend and captures a moment where I served as both Art Director and artist, my painting casting color and shape into the room as Boddie dances through it. Community and connection are not simply inspirations; they are lifelines. The more fully we recognize and nourish these bonds, the more we, like the forest, will thrive. #mushrooms #mycelium #fiberart #fabricart #contemporaryart #artistontiktok

Disappointing, censors work from female artists because it's "gross" rather than actively caring about the statement and message :) I was also accosted by what I'm assuming is an employee telling me how gross the former show was when I mentioned it in passing :) Not worth a visit. Don't let work into your space if you're just going to bring it down when someone doesn't want to see it, and act like a gallery employee.

As an artist in the community I will be warning others about...

A beautiful building and a great place to hang out a while and take in some art culture. They have three floors of artwork on display and an elevator to get you there if you can't do the stairs. The art gets changed out every month for a new exhibit. They also have an incredible gift shop with some local pottery and other unique gifts made by local artists. When we are no longer in a pandemic phaze there will be First Friday Artwalks which is really fun but can be a...

When I first went into Gallery One it was really cool to find out that they had three floors of art exhibitions. I would of never known that just from looking from the outside. The gallery's gift shop is great because a lot of the work is locally known artists, and the gifts are from anything to photography to jewelry. Gallery One is a really neat place to go exploring if you have never been. It one of those hidden treasures...
