Love supporting local business and finding new books, unfortunately this business while very cute, with a fantastic location, and aesthetically pleasing store front, lacks customer service. So much so that this issue can not be overlooked despite the many pro’s it does have. The owner/clerk with the gray, sensible, shoulder length hair is extremely overbearing. Immediately as I entered the store she basically blocked my passage into the store entrance. At first I thought it was a classic case of the “whoops! Awkward dance trying to pass each other” situation. But oh boy, was I wrong. She continued to follow me around the store. And peer at me through the other top of bookshelves and card display shelves and in general looked very annoyed that I was there. Constantly kept getting in my way trying to bump into me as I moved around the store attempting to shop and find a Mother’s Day gift. I finally realized that she was trying to bump into my arm where I was carrying my reusable shopping bag that I was carrying so that she would have a chance to peer down it. She was following me around bc she thought I was trying to steal. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt that she was just a paranoid older woman who treated all customers like this. But then another woman came in she smiled at her amply did not follow her or block her passage multiple times as she attempted to shop, rather she kept following me. I am brown the other woman was white. I can’t be sure that she acted differently towards us because she is a racist or simply because she knew the other woman better. But what I do know is that no one should ever treat a customer the way she treated me. I did not purchase anything because I was not going to give the woman the satisfaction nor the money. She is horrible and genuinely one of the worst customer service experiences...

Read moreI've noticed the last 2 or 3 times I've been in that the woman behind the counter never even acknowledges me being there. Super awkward, especially because it's always just me and her in there. Then called today to see if I could put my newly published coloring book in there, and she was rude, didn't tell me how she does consignments or if she buys the books and basically rushed me off the phone telling me to figure it out and call her back, sounding like she didn't have time for me, as if I'm supposed to know what percentage she takes or what. I definitely won't be calling her back or going in here again. Like another person said in their review, it's too bad because it is a cute shop. But cute shop or not, I won't give a cent to someone who doesn't have the time for others. I'll just stick to Gallery One, Jerrol's, and the other book...
