I almost don't want to write a review, because I don't want to share my little spot, but it is too good to keep to myself! There is no sign, so you will have to look for the blue building next to SunBum, across the street from the iconic La Paloma Theatre. They do not need a sign and they do not need reviews. This little gem is cranking the business and it is no wonder. If you are like me and you want some kindness served up with your morning coffee, then this is your place. No attitude. So refreshing! The owners travel to the farms where the coffee is grown, they bond with the workers and bring back the beans themselves. Columbia, Ethiopia, and Guatemala. If I can't get my coffee at Ironsmith, I'm skipping coffee.
I have my daily Americano in a mug for here with a tall glass of water. It is so powerful I can only have one. The staff is incredibly considerate. They have learned my habits, and they spoil me. It's the little things, right? They see me coming and when I get to the counter inevitably one of them has put out the honey, the warmed, liquid coconut oil, the cayenne and the cinnamon for me to dose my coffee and make it into my Roz Special Superfood Americano. My dog is welcome, I can sit for hours on my computer and crank out my work in the midst of other productive people. I've made a ton of friends and contacts here. It's the only business I go to...

Their coffee is exceptionalâsmooth, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Whether youâre sipping on a classic pour-over, a velvety latte, or one of their signature drinks, every cup feels like a masterpiece. Iâm particularly obsessed with their cold brew, which is rich and refreshing, especially on a sunny Encinitas day. And if youâre a fan of single-origin beans, their rotating selection is a must-try.
The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, always happy to share their expertise or recommend something new. Their passion for coffee shines through in every interaction, and it makes the experience even more enjoyable. Plus, the space itself is cozy and stylish, with plenty of seating to relax, work, or catch up with friends.
Iron Smith also roasts their own beans in-house, and you can tell the difference in every sip. The quality and care they put into their craft is unmatched. Whether youâre a local or just passing through Encinitas, Iron Smith Coffee Roasters is a must-visit. Five stars without a doubtâthis place is...
Read moreAt 9:45, I stopped by Ironsmith Coffee for a cup of coffee, the usual. Certainly, there was a buzz about the coffee shop at this time. There were plenty of customers, who were enjoying both indoor and outdoor seating. Encinitas is a beautiful city to appreciate the weather. As you can see by the photos, Ironsmith Coffee is military friendly. Also, the store is pet friendly. While waiting in line, the customer before me had a dog. The barista offered a treat for the dog, and the customer seemed to appreciate it. For the record, Encinitas is a dog friendly town. My experience was a little different. My barista was a new hire, the first day on the job. My transaction was cash, and the register records this differently. It took a moment to work through it. As a new hire, she seemed to be soaking up the experience. I did experience one difficulty, and that was parking. Street parking is limited, and the parking behind the store was full. It was difficult for me to find parking. With this said, it is worth your time to enjoy a coffee drink at Ironsmith...
