This is the first purchase that I have not been satisfied at ALL with Rife's. I am a repeat customer, but the American Westlake Platform bed frame I bought has been the worst frame I've ever bought and it is supposed to be a high quality frame. I purchased it for $1300. I purchased this particular one hoping it would be one that would last me years. I've had it a month total but have had nothing but issues with it.
Issues:
UPDATE: I also should mention the newest bed frames drawers do not glide smoothly and this new frame squeaks and creaks badly too. The store offered to replace the frame with an "in store credit" towards any other frame/bed mattress combo. The only issue as I mentioned before is with the purchase of the bed frame I got originally bought, I got rid of my box springs, so if I go to a standard bed frame I will have to buy a new mattress set, which means more money. The sales persons said they can try to work a deal, but I am concerned the quality of mattress will be less than the one I currently have. Also, if I decided to go with a different platform bed frame of lesser value, then I will be still be stuck with "in store credit"...
It seems the issues continue. I went with in store credit plus had to pay a small amount more to get another bed frame plus mattress. Luckily the new bed frame is better, it doesn't squeak or rattle. I bought the same one I had before this platform bed, which was the inexpensive Lifestyle frame. HOWEVER, they brought me the WRONG mattress. They delivered the firm mattress instead of the cushion firm, which there is a big difference on the softness and a price difference too. The delivery guy tried to say there shouldn't be a difference, ha! I suggested leaving my old mattress until they could bring me the right one, he said I should use the new one until the correct one is delivered. Needless to say, I used the new mattress and had a horrible nights sleep and woke up in pain. This whole experience with Rife's has been terrible. I will not shop with them again.
RESOLUTION: The store finally made things right. I exchanged the platform frame for a less expensive frame (no squeaks - go figure!) and...

Update to my previous review:
After leaving my previous 1 star review the owner had someone named Ashley in their service department call me. Ashley was extremely nice and very helpful. She offered to refund the entire purchase price of $1500 for the furniture set that I purchased 3 years ago that fell apart. This was much more than I was expecting and her customer service exceeded my expectations. I have decided to give Rifes another chance and I just purchased a new furniture set and dining room table. I went to the Valley River location and the salesman Brian was very nice and he wasn't pushy at all. We bought a better quality Stanton couch and I really hope that it holds up better than the last one. Rifes made things right and I appreciate their customer service. Thank you for doing the right thing!
Bought a leather couch, recliner and loveseat less than 3 years ago and it already needs to be replaced. The springs are poking up through the cushions and there is a section in the middle of the couch that has collapsed. This furniture has not been abused at all, just normal usage. They have good prices but they mostly sell low quality junk. It's definitely worth spending a little more to buy quality furniture elsewhere. I actually considered buying a new furniture set from them and I asked them what they would be willing to do for me since my old set broke down so quickly and they said that they could offer me free delivery if I purchased a new set. Not good enough! When I purchased the original furniture set the salesman told me that it was their best selling furniture set and it was great quality. I didn't spend a ton of money (only $1500 or so) but I expected it to last longer than 3 years. I would recommend spending your money somewhere that takes care of their previous clients. I will be sure to tell everyone that I know to...
Read moreBeware of talking about any kind of financing with Rife’s and definitely don’t give them any of your information! They mention that they can look into “financing options” for you or give you interest free financing for up to 12 months BUT WHAT THEY DON’T TELL YOU is that they are applying you for a credit card right then and there…
My husband and I went to Rife’s to buy a couch. We started talking about pricing with the sales associate who let us know he could set us up with 12 months free financing if we were interested in going that route. I ended up giving the sales associate my information so that he could let us know what the monthly payments would look like assuming the financing would be through the store (because not once did they ever say they go through a credit card company for their financing). To my shock (which I found out about way too late) was that by “looking” into monthly financing options, the sales associate ended up applying me for a credit card right then and there even though we did NOT end up going with the financing route and decided to pay for the couch in full up front.
So understandably, I was livid when I received a credit card in my name with “Rife’s Home Furnishing” right below it a week later. I ended up calling the credit card company to instantly cancel it and explain what happened. I called Rife’s store manager to inform him what happened, he didn’t seem to think there was any big issue with what happened and honestly didn't seem all that sorry. All I got in response was that he was going to look into giving that employee more training.
Normally I like to support local businesses but given their lack of care around this issue, I don’t think I’ll shop at...
