I've been in here a handful of times, usually just to shop clothes, and maybe housewares, i think. I don't think i've ever managed to buy any housewares, but i've bought a few shirts, at least.
My most recent experience here was negative enough that i'll not shop here again. I get the impression the employees here tend to be, or are trained to be...prejudiced. If you don't look the part of a middle-aged casually-dressed mom/housewife, you stand a good chance of being discriminated against.
I was looking at some clothes on a rack, and a couple of staff members requested that i move, as they shifted away the rack i was going through. I didn't think too much of it, until it happened a second time. It would have been a little more polite to give a 30-second warning prior to pulling the rack away from a customer.
I managed to find a couple of things i wanted to try on. When i went to the dressing room, there was a sign that said it was closed due to theft. So i went to the front counter, to wait in line and find out if there was any chance of trying my items on. While i was waiting, another staff member escorted a middle-aged lady to the dressing room and let her in. "Ooo, it's not actually closed, we just have to check in with staff so they can keep an eye on us." So i asked the lady who had escorted the other customer to the dressing room, if i could try on my items when she got a moment. She looked me over and said no, and that they couldn't open the dressing rooms now, because they've had problems. I was a bit shocked by the double-standard, and dropped the handful of clothes i had planned on buying.
I'm sorry to have financially supported this store in the past. I don't agree with unfair treatment of patrons, or discrimination, based on looks, and this store does...
Read moreThis store was recommended by a friend for their kind service and flexibility on prices. In general, it looks as most thrift stores would - somewhat rummaged but generally decent items. The furniture selections were dated, but in surprisingly good condition, even with shopping around at other similar stores like St. Vinnie's or Goodwill.
When looking to furnish my new apartment, the sales associates took time to help me find the right couch, let me sit/lay/test it for quite a while and then gave me a VERY generous discount so that I could afford the couch that I wanted comfortably with delivery. During that delivery, they were pretty speedy and offered to help clean the scuffs (it was raining and dirt had gotten onto one side during the moving process).
I'm glad I went to these folks rather than buying a couch off...
Read moreThe staff was extremely helpful my son ran back to the electronics and found a tripod for his phone that he really wanted. When he got it up to the counter it hadn't been priced yet. So immediately he got bummed and discouraged and I told him hold on. We talk to the staff and they were super awesome they took it back to the manager and got it priced reasonable and I was able to teach my son A Life lesson about using your head and logic and words. The store is full of great product awesome prices and the staff is eager to help in many ways. I recommend the store to anybody looking for a good time great prices unfriendly people.
