skip to third paragraph if you want to read about food quality
I'm new to the area as of a month ago and the last thing I wanted to try in terms of new food varieties was pizza. You can get pizza anywhere, of any kind, and I dreaded the thought of getting something so stereotypical after a move...but my roommates convinced me otherwise...and I caved. We all mutually agreed on Mezza Luna and let me tell you of how it went....
We ordered a large half Hearty Fungus and half Pollo Party, and their garlic knots. All of which were made at least 20 minutes within the order placement. When I got there, the staff was actually finishing up on my order, they had great customer service skills, amazing demeanor, and seemed super welcoming, even during a rush of orders.
And now for the moment you've been waiting for....FOOD QUALITY First off, I'd like to start off by saying, Thank You! To everyone who's made it this far into the review. Now, the pizza slices were way bigger than anticipated, which in my opinion was a great quality to have in the pizza. The integrity of the crust was thin enough to not make a challenge, while also being thick enough to support the weight of the toppings. The balance of flavors and individual toppings where all thrown together perfectly, not making the other tastes dull or underwhelmed. Everything tastes fresh and as though it all prepped that day. If you read the first paragraph you'll recall that I mentioned not getting pizza but the garlic knots as well. Do you like garlic? Like a lot of garlic? Like so much garlic, you don't have to worry about those pesky vampires for at least a few days? I sure do! Like what's bad about garlic? It's not only great for your immune system (Did you know it can help you recover from the common cold?? I think that's pretty rad honestly!), It can help lower your blood pressure and it can even help with bone health, which in my opinion is way cool for a little vegetable! Anyways......where were we?
OH YEAH! The garlic knots at this place! They're super good! They have a light garlic taste that is subtle so as to not be overpowering, however when paired with the marinara sauce, it's like a garlic explosion in your mouth, allowing you to taste every ingredient used in not just the knots but the sauce as well. The texture is top notch and made to perfection.
Moral of the review? Mezza Luna Pizzeria is the best pizza place I've ever tried and I'm more than likely going to return here, next time I'm craving some great quality pizza and heartwarming customer service.
If you've read this far? All I have to say to you is what are you doing here? I'm done. The review is finished? Did you enjoy my review that much you're wanting more?? Are you just waiting for your order and there's a line in front of you and you're debating on whether it's worth it and want an in-depth review on whether or not it's worth it? I assure you it is! Just please end your phone time as soon as you're called to the counter, or if you have a phone call to make, please do so, out of the dining room and outside. In the meantime, all you potential customers that for whatever reason are still reading beyond this point, you all stay safe, respect one and another, and for the love of God....wear a mask....we all need to work together to slow the spread of COVID, the statistics are getting...
Read moreFor the first time tonight we decided to eat here at mezza luna for are anniversary! Are kids joined us as I wanted to have a fun night at a pizza place we had never eaten at before...after ordering 5 slices of pizza a med. Caesar salad garlic cheesy twists and drinks our total coming around $50...we will not be coming back the lady who brought are food was told thankyou multiple times not even a smile or a your welcome or really any words were given. If I had to guess it seemed as if she hated her job. We received are pizza it was burt. The salad wasn't bad. Then when we were finished with are pizza and salad we were so tired of waiting for the garlic and cheesy bread twists my husband was bringing are daughter in to use the restroom and was gonna tell them just don't worry about it if they haven't been made yet as we were ready to go. Well they came to the table when they were in the restroom and they were burnt horribly on the bottom...apparently I got a box packed it up and was gonna take it home because my son was tired and had been there long enough. So when we got home it was bedtime for the kids and of coarse any excusses to get out of going to bed so I pulled out the garlic cheesy bread and my kids emeadietly spit it out in the garbage...needless to say I feel $50 was completely wasted and after the service and food being sucky we will not be returning!!! Calling...
Read more73rd pizza spot in the books. This place has a very relaxing atmosphere. It's not loud at all. Some pizza spots feel like you need to talk super loud but not here. The service is great, the pizza is brought to the table, ask for ranch it doesn't come on its own. Now the time you have been waiting for the food! We got the pepperoni with Italian sausage. Sausage is cut thin not in a crumble form. The sauce was balanced good flavor but doesn't over power with sage, time or oregano. The crust is on the thin side which is great if you want more than once pieces because the cuts are pretty big (Costco pizza slices size). Cheese is quality, the pepperoni used is quality and big NYC style which I personally love. Crust was not floppy, and the back crust bite was crunchy and had a snap.
We got the garlic knots with cheese.. RECOMMEND 100% so these are delicious #1, now the biggest reason they are 8+ Chang for 12, this is pre-pandemic pricing! You could almost get these by themselves and make it a meal.
