The park, while it is very nice with its water front views, benches, open areas to sit and play, and everything else… I wish the space catered better to smaller children. The play area is awesome but only for bigger kids. Lots of rope stuff to play on but no swings, solid play sets, or slides. Where are the picnic tables? How does a space like this not have any sort of bbq grill or place for people to have a cooked meal with family and friends? There doesn’t appear to be many covered pavilions at the park, so on a very sunny day, you’re sort of left to fend for yourself for shade. I love the walking path, the size of the park, just wish there was a little more thought put into amenities. There is a trash problem as well that needs taken care of. The screen at the entrance which I believe is supposed to be an interactive screen which displays some info has about 12 to 15 gashes in it where someone took the time to slam the screen over and over with a blunt force object. The screen has been this way for quite some time and it doesn’t give off the impression that the city is quick to take care of the issue… which isn’t a great look for the park. It feels underwhelming and more of an afterthought other than “here’s a park with not much going on”.
