If you cannot cook breakfast right, I seriously doubt anything else could possibly be any good! This place is one and done for us. I will start out fair... The location is good, and parking at the park is right there. Full stop. It is confusing because there are four entrances. We entered from the back where the steps are falling apart and spongy, and came in just wondering where do we go. We made it through restaurant when an older lady eventually had us pick a seat. Decor really needs rethought. Golden girls set is what it felt like. After seating, 10 minutes later (I did time it), server came. We were given two totally flat diet Cokes. Wife ordered steak and eggs medium rare, I the biscuits & gravy with eggs over medium. Did I mention there was only ONE SERVER for whole restaurant? She did it all...soft drinks, bar tender, and would be in kitchen with lone cook. Food came out pretty like everyone's pictures, but it was horrible. Wife's steak was well done plus, and all the mushrooms and egg picked up the charred taste of over cooked steak. My eggs were also cooked to oblivion. The edge of the eggs were cooked into a rope strength. I tried my best to cut with fork, but the fork was cutting into me. It was a super cheap steel with sharp sides... Which obviously made a lasting impression! The sausage was store bought patties, and the gravy was as plain as possible with zero seasoning. All this time, the place is slowly getting customers, and there was a wedding party arriving. Did I say ONE SERVER? super pricey for bad quality. Our clue should have been us getting there about 10 am on Saturday, and it was empty. Why, because they open at 730. No crowd means the locals know! There was no sense in trying to complain, because they charged us for the dead Cokes. I left hungry and seriously disappointed. At least the dogs...
Read moreFour of us had brunch this morning at Magnolia Breeze. This was my second time there. We were seated quickly and our friendly server immediately took our drink order. Drinks came out promptly (just ice water at this point) and I followed up and ordered a cocktail made with vodka, blue curacao and orange juice. The drink was served in a heavy glass shaped like a pineapple with an orchid in it. It was potent and delicious and only cost $10.00. I ordered the mushroom, steak and cheddar omelet that came with home fries and toast...I chose sourdough. My wife had the same. The others had a build your own omelet and a Mexican style omelet with chorizo and a variety of veg and cheese. They both loved their food, as did my wife. My omelet was absolutely delicious. The egg was fluffy, the mushrooms were tender and super-flavorful and the steak was melt-in your-mouth tender and cooked a perfect medium-rare. The home fries were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and lightly but perfectly seasoned. The toast was thick and perfectly toasted. The price of that perfect omelet platter was less than you would pay for a lesser dish in that crowded, tightly packed biscuit themed breakfast place in Tavares. The atmosphere in Magnolia Breeze is open and airy and relaxing. The service was perfect and we never felt rushed. We will be going back for lunch or dinner or maybe both next weekend. By the way, they also have a lovely bar in which you can sit and have cocktails and/or be served your meal. You must try Magnolia Breeze. We can't let another wonderful restaurant slip through our fingers from lack of community support. This...
Read moreFamily of 6 was in this morning for a Sunday morning breakfast and the experience was less than perfect. I am going to be fair here with hopes of folks in the future having a better experience and this restaurant being successful and survive. Daughter ordered a flight of the coffee drinks and they were not good, the grandkids tried them and I tried them and they just didn't taste good. Grandson did drink one of them. I love the idea of a flight of coffee drinks, but they have to be at least descent. The Belgium waffles were very good, the shrimp and grits were good, the two chorizo scrambler dishes were not very good, potatoes over cooked and eggs should have been medium not over hard. My black coffee was less tasty than gas station coffee. No other patrons were there the hour that we spent here, not sure of why the lag in delivery of our dishes? A hostess remained at the door the majority of the time. When the $112 breakfast bill arrived, waitress asked if we needed the manager and I advised some relief should be inshore, she returned with ~$30 removed from bill. I'm surprised that the manger didn't return with the discounted bill so they may learn and improve the business? If it were me I would constantly want to be improving my business... I'm not sure if I'll return...
