Excellent shows and this review has nothing to do with any of the talent in the shows it's the theater it's self. I went to see the producers and was told the A.C. was broken it was over 85 degrees in the theater. I thought that's really unfortunate went to see it a week later. It was warmer than usual but not as hot as before. At intermision I happebed to find the thermostat (behind one of the clear lock boxes) was SET AT 80! Now when your shows are at about 90% capacity every night, they beg for donations at the beginning of the show and then lie about the A.C. and don't even turn it on. I have a real problem with that. At this level of theater everyone putting on the play does it for free the theaters only cost is overhead (rent, electric and THE A.C.). I refuse to go back there for being lied to and for such a stupid reason to not have A.C. in the middle of July in florida. Unbelievable! How the actors and actresses did the show in that heat is absolutely...
Read moreThanks to the Bay Street Players for putting on one of the most entertaining shows I've ever seen. Once in the theatre you become the audience for a 1940's radio show presentation of "It's A Wonderful Life". The cast was great with the narrator and the actor presenting the character "George" giving outstanding performances. Shut your eyes and you could swear Jimmy Stewart was on stage. So moving was his performance, he brought me to tears at the climax of the play.
The theater is 100 years old. The decor has been preserved, you can see the old stage opening where vaudeville acts were performed. The balcony has been taken over by the many stage lights and engineers booth. The whole experience was incredible.
I HIGHLY recommend this show for an evening of entertainment. I know my wife and I will be coming back. This was the first live performance our grandson has ever seen --- he's HOOKED!
Thank you for a delightful...
Read moreI came here tonight to see A Christmas Carol, and had a really great time. The players seemed to be worried that it would be the last show, and are trying to raise $30,000 to prevent from shutting down for good. I really hope they meet their goal! I've lived in Eustis for several years now, and I wish I'd went to a show sooner because I was really impressed with the talent and how professional they are! The theater takes Covid very seriously, and takes all precautions to prevent exposure. Everyone has to wear masks (including cast) , seats are spread far apart and everyone has to get their temperature taken upon arrival. Definitely recommend if you want to see...
