Sol De Mexico — Restaurant in Eustis

Sol De Mexico was recommended to me by a co-worker. My family first went here a couple of Christmas Eve's ago and it has now become a tradition! We have been hard pressed to find authentic Mexican good since we moved from California many years ago. This place truly hits the mark! The food is tasty and flavorful, portions are a great size, and the drinks are very tasty, especially the sangria. The atmosphere is what really brings us back. Cozy, authentic and welcoming! The staff go above and beyond and are quick. I recently met my family here on my lunch hour and I was in and out, back to work in plenty of time. The only small, small issue I had recently was with my taco salad. I was not sure why there were croutons in there but not something I would ding them for. I also was not too big of a fan of the fried ice cream but that was just me. Downtown Eustis is an awesome area anyway to visit! Small, quaint, shops to explore and the lake and park across the street. Highly recommend visiting this place with the First Friday Street Party Eustis has! Good food...

I was extremely disappointed with my meal today. The rice was old and crunchy, the flautas were awful and stale tasting with old, dry chicken inside, and the food was barely warm. The service was just okay. I don’t think she asked how we liked the food or offered refills or anything. There were no hot sauces on the table (so weird!) and the food had no flavor......there were only a few tiny slivers of cilantro in the salsa, which took forever to finally get to our table. My son’s macaroni and cheese was exactly like Kraft Mac n’ cheese 🤣 but they charged about $6 for it.

Minimal money and effort was put into our meals. Beyond low quality. It definitely did not taste like the authentic Mexican restaurants we have in Dayton, Ohio. We have amazing authentic Mexican in Ohio! If anyone reading plans to visits Dayton, Ohio, I highly recommend trying Garcia’s taco Truck on Third St. or Taqueria Mixteca on Third or the one in Trotwood. THAT is what Mexican should taste like. I do not recommend going to Sol de Mexico in Eustis, FL....

The food is good, but the service was completely lacking. I do understand that it was a busy day, but woman who served our table was very unwelcoming with us and did not provide the food we ordered properly.

I even found they sneaked chicken to fill my steak fajita (where I paid the steak price) and my mother in law ordered shrimp she got chicken for her meal (paying the shrimp price). They at the very least let us keep the other meal, but the point of the issue here is they either can't tell chicken from shrimp or steak or they're trying to rip us off, especially after they also kept the queso on the ticket after we did not receive it.

If you order from here, please pay attention to what you order and check the inside of your burritos and wrapped meals. This is misrepresentation of the meal and they CAN be held accountable. I am leaving my honest experience in hopes that people are properly informed of the practices...
