BE SURE TO EXAMINE CAREFULLY any items you buy from any of the TJX stores. They sell a lot of seconds. That's why a lot of the stuff is in Home Goods - because the manufacturer couldn't or didn't want to sell it any place else. I bought 3 barstools and paid $199 for each one. I failed to look at them closely and each one had a defect. Home Goods probably knows this, but they will NEVER alert the customer that anything is wrong. Unlike a normal store where they WILL tell the customer that xyz is broken, missing, or defective. Instead, Home Goods just intends to get over on the customer. I purchased towels and after washing them, they completely fell apart. I bought an office chair where the mechanism that allows the chair to go up was faulty in that the chair will go up, but will gradually fall back down to the lowest height. Many of the clothing items at TJ Maxx and Marshalls are also seconds, especially pants. I paid $299 for a coat only to see it on sale at Saks for the SAME price with a large amount of reviews saying the coat would hideously pile after just a few wears. Fortunately. Read moreConsidering I come to this store all the time and absolutely love my experience, this one star should say something. I wait in a long line, as expected, with items in hand along with a return. I get to the cashier and right away I receive the biggest attitude. I mention I am there to make a return. As soon as I pull my receipt and item out of the bag she immediately says "no uh uh no returns no" and I politely said okay no problem can I ask why? And she points to a paper on the window without explaining to me why as she rings up the other items. I did not know foods were on the list of covid no return policy. Perfectly fine and understandable! I would just have wished that she would answer my question rather than giving me a very aggresive remark as if I was arguing with her. I have only made a return at this store once so dont know the return policy, and as someone who works retail as well I wouldn't argue with the policy in place even if I didn't know about it. Read moreI was motivated to leave this review for Keith and Andy. Keith was beyond patient with me and looked through a whole days of transactions to find my transaction. I just had to give him the credit card I used. He sat there for 10 minutes looking for it and was extremely kind and helpful the whole time. I felt bad so I even said “if you can’t find it’s fine, I feel bad” and he responded “we’ll make it right don’t worry”. Amazing customer service. This alone makes customers want to come back.
