Regal Goldstream — Attraction in Fairbanks

Brought my 5 kids to see a movie and had to sit with a frozen screen for over 20 min. This was an Imax movie so I paid well over 100 dollars with all the kids. I notified the usher 5 min after movie was scheduled to start and he said he would tell someone. 20 minutes after movie was scheduled to start I went to find the manager brier and she blamed the weather, it was snowing and said she would play the movie and skip the previews which did not happen, previews still played and movie started approx. 30 min late. Do you have any idea what its like to sit in a movie theater with 5 upset kid for 30 min. With a frozen movie screen. The manager flat out refused to discount my tickets and blamed me for missing the first part of the movie because I was complaining to her about the late start. It wasn't till after the movie that my wife and kids joined me to complain and she called corporate that she authorized us to have complimentary tickets to see another show. I didnt appreciate the manager blaming the weather telling me I missed the first part of the movie because I was complaining. Where is your customer appreciation. Everywhere else we went in fairbanks treated us like they wanted us there except this movie theater manager. I expected more. Girl at the front counter told my wife she would refund our tickets and when I went with our receipt told me she never said that. The assistant manager told me she would only refund our tickets if we walked out. The girl at the concession stand was friendly and courteous. Nice clean theatre. The bathroom is in bad need of update. It's old and a lot of stuff is broken in the men's room. It was not very clean. Just gross and out dated. A family restroom would be nice to have to be able to change my granddaughters diapers. Lol I was also very disappointed because they were out of the refill buckets and cups for purchase, yet they still had a poster advertising them in the lobby by the box office as well as an onscreen ad during the previews. I really do not like people adding butter to my popcorn. They never give enough, even when you ask for extra. Give us our own butter stations like other theaters do. A self-service drink kiosk would also be nice. Twice I've asked for no or very little ice and got too much. I don't like watered down soda. And a self-service kiosk usually allows you to add flavors. The Sound and cleanliness in the auditoriums were great. The seats, although not reclining or rocking, are still pretty comfortable. The staff here is great, very friendly.

On today's visit (9/2/2024), I asked the manager if they had the refills buckets back yet for purchase. He said yes. I told him the last several times I was here I was told they were out of them. He said there was a miscommunication between the staff and they always had them. They had run out of cups, but did get some back in. He genuinely apologized to me and gave me the refill bucket and cup. I was willing to pay for them, but he insisted and again apologized. What a great manager. Went here opening day for the new Matrix in dec 2021, movie was terrible.....not much action and alot of talking, not very Matrixy to me and my 2 sons you could say. The theater was very nice, besides the fact the snack line was also the line for purchasing tickets, made things very confusing when entering the building and made waiting for either snacks and/or tickets very lengthy. There was only 2 registers open when we entered the building, after waiting for about 15 minutes they opened an additional register and people were rushing that register like it was black friday at the mall! I felt a little bad for one of the workers as she was young and I would say possibly her 1st day. Couldn't figure out the register without some help from others. I ordered 2 icees for the kids, a soda and lg popcorn, got my popcorn and soda, she made the drinks for the kids in a nervous fashion, she put the drinks down and accidently knocked them both over and her world crumbled in front of the matinee crowd....I helped her clean up the mess and she replaced both the drinks. I wound up tipping her and told her to just relax and merry Xmas. Was like an angry mob in these lines. There should be a line just for tickets. They should open up the ticket window in front and it will work out much easier and make much more sense.. All in all the theater was very nice. We did not opt for the images for this movie and honestly it would of been a waste of the additional $25 for the 3 tickets as the action was very limited. We...
