I had a good time at this place. If you're looking for some casual laser tag with friends, it's a good spot. However, I do have some reservations about the gameplay and "upgrades" you can buy for an additional cost.
First and foremost, the staff was great, very funny, a bit witty... some I'd even say unhinged (In a good way) or chronically online... one in particular- and he knows who he is lol. The staff were great, very welcoming attitude. (10/10)
I think more needs to be explained in regards to the gameplay, like the different types of guns you can get from the upgrades around the map.
In terms of gameplay, I do think the hit registration for the headbands is a bit lacking, though. The bigger issue is after a small kill streak, you get an extra life. As in, if you die you come back within a second or so, as a gameplay mechanic this is already kind of an issue given just how much health everyone has. That added with the hit registration not being the best, you can kill someone, end up empty on ammo, and get killed while reloading. Now, this would all be a little more fair if after killing someone there was an indication or a way to tell if they had an extra life and were going to come back in a second.... but there isn't one. So you may kill someone, think they are dead, and push their position, only to die a few seconds later by the same person you just killed. If there were some indication that they had a 2nd life, that would make you aware of that fact, it would make more sense but- as of now I was told that isn't the case.
On that note, the health players get is WAY too high given the hit registration, and perhaps even without it. You can end up standing in front of someone, without cover, both of you standing wide in the open shooting at each other and hitting each other, and one of you won't die for quite a good amount of time, you'll spend half a mag of hits trying to kill a single person. Time to kill is VERY high here for the most part which makes 2v1 engagements very unrewarding and near impossible even if you have the drop on people. This also means that "fast reaction time" and a "fast time on target" go very unrewarded because people have 3-5 business days to react to getting hit, AFTER being hit like 4 or 5 times.
My only actual disappointment in the experience was that it wasn't explained how the "upgrade" I purchased was going to put me at a major disadvantage in a few game modes. In particular, sniper, where it's 1 in the chamber, 1 shot to kill, and after each shot you must reload. NOT rechamber, RELOAD. What does this mean? Well if you're using the normal guns you'd be pressing a single button to reload. Shoot, press, shoot press, repeat. It's a fairly fast process. However, with the upgrade, you have to eject the mag to reload, flip it, and chamber your rifle. It's an AR-style rifle so the process is most similar to loading an empty AR-15. It also has a charging handle. That said, after every shot in this mode, you have to eject the mag, flip it, reinsert it, and use the charging handle to chamber a round. All of this, mind you, in a very low-light environment. This means your time from shot to a follow-on shot is MUCH longer than everyone else putting you at a major disadvantage if you miss or the hit reg screws you. I do wish this was mentioned before purchasing this "upgrade" since I paid extra for a major disadvantage in this mode. That would have probably changed my mind.
Overall it was a fun experience, If I could give it 3.9 to 4.1 stars I would. I think there are much better options out there if you're looking to be competitive or have a more realistic experience.
It's advertised as tactical gameplay, but I don't think that is very accurate, it's more of an arcade experience given some of the mechanics.
Want a casual fun game with friends and don't care about competitiveness? This is a great place!
Want to be competitive and have a realistic experience that makes you work together? This might not be the best place...

First, the app only shows stats for the individual who downloaded it. It doesn’t display the full game stats for everyone who played. That meant that to compare results, all 16 of us would have had to download the app separately and then share our screens. Maybe that was convenient in the 80s, but not in 2025.
Second, we arrived on time for our event—you can verify that on your security cameras. The staff member in charge shut off the lobby TV before we even got back out of the gaming area. All I asked was to see the stats for a few minutes. I even asked why she couldn’t wait just five more minutes. I’m not sure if this is standard procedure, but she was the one who delayed us in the first place by calling only one person at a time to the front to pay.
This is just my feedback, but the rest of our party plans to leave negative feedback as well. We used to go to Sandbox in Paramus and decided to try something new, but the staff member in charge here should consider a career at the DMV instead—her attitude would be much better suited there.
Pretty disappointing experience overall.
Equipment issues:
The guns were old and some of them malfunctioned during our game. We weren't told what to do when that happened, so it disrupted the entire round.
The rest of the gear was old, worn, and not clean. Everything smelled like sweat. I asked if they sanitize it, and was told they do after every game—but all I saw was someone quickly wiping it down. If they really sanitized it, you'd notice. Especially after a pandemic, you'd expect them to care more about cleanliness, but no one seemed to.
Stats and experience:
Our game stats were removed from the TV before we even had a chance to see them. I was told to download the app just to see my own results. Why not just leave it up for 5 more minutes so people can at least take a photo? What's the rush to turn the screen off?
Staff:
The staff was completely inattentive. It felt like they didn’t want to be there, and didn’t want anyone else there either. Even a fake smile would have helped a little, but they couldn’t manage even that.
Will I go there again? Definitely not. Most of the positive reviews are probably from little kids who are just wowed by the theme. For adults or anyone expecting basic service and hygiene, this place is really...

The kids had an awesome time. It is fun, clean, and better laser fun then other places. They had fun obstacles and games. Very detailed directions were given in beginning. Bit overwhelming but it worked out.
It was very hot, kids running around for over an hour. They were super hot. Everyone of them complained that it was too hot.
I was hosting a private party. It wa nice to have the place to yourselves. $400 for up to 10, extra for more. I found they had midweek special for $300. Not sure if its regular or just this time.
I would of given it a 5 but honestly was not very happy with the people working there. One was new and learning and the other clearly just liked things het way and lacked people skills. With 10-14 year olds kids wanted to be on certain teams. Figured since its a bday we can have bday kid on one team half the games and on other team other half to make all feel special. Nope, was not allowed. I was told I can at leadt pick the teams, however they decided to do it resulting in tears before they even started. I did have to insist on fixing the teams, which took 30 seconds. So I dont understand why I was given a hard time. Before we went was told we can see them and after ever round we get the scores and who got what placement in different categories. Basically you had to take a quick picture of the screen. 2 of 6 games the screen was changed so fast that none of tge parents with phones facing the screen waiting even got a picture. It was disappointing.
I did halfway through opt in for giving the bday girl advantages since her team was losing. They were on top of it refilling her stats quickly. According to other players she was indestructible. Which was fine with me.
Summary. Kids had lots of fun. The employees could do better with customer service, but they were not aweful. Just disappointing. I would probably go back again but with lower...
