Coyote Creek Art Gallery — Attraction in Fairplay

We stopped at the Coyote Creek Art Gallery in Fairplay at the end of September 2025 while in the area viewing Aspen. The woman on duty was so personable which is not always the case when vising local galleries in Colorado. We purchased a small painting done by Mr. Anderson(?) shown below and a hat featuring artwork done by the son of the woman working that day. This was a very pleasant stop while we were staying in the area. My only regret is not posting this...

I'm a local and have not been to Coyote Creek in a couple years. There is a really nice collection of local art here. There are original paintings, prints, wood carvings, jewelry and lots of other mediums too. They have at least a couple new artists since the last time I visited. AND! They appear to hold classes as well.

I love discovering new gallery spaces, and coop galleries like this are usually a lot of fun. While we were there, we even talked to an artist who makes hats. Not only does she make them, but she raises the sheep, sheers them, cleans and cards the wool, then makes the hats. She even showed us two new hats she had just finished....
