United States Postal Service — Local services in Fairplay

Horrible experience!!! I've had a very bad experience with this post office, specifically with Josh, who I've heard only good things about before meeting him. We just moved into town of Fairplay and few of my Amazon packages ended up in the post office unintentionally. I went in person to apologize for that, and he was extremely rude, barley gave me 30 seconds of his time after I was waited for 20 min in line. Josh "shamed" me for not having a post office box and trying to pick up a package. They sent the packages back immediately, not giving me opportunity to even pick them up. The package was delivered that day and returned the same day in the morning. I went to the post office at around 1pm and the package was not there. I apologized and explained that it was not intentional that the packages ended up in the post office but he was so rude and not even listening. I ordered those items on black Friday on 70%off and had to reorder the items at full price because the post office refused to help the community after an unintentional mistake. I was with my 9 month old and did nothing but apologize and I left the post office crying because I was shamed and was showed nothing but rudness. I will keep my PO box in Breckenridge, I would rather drive an a hour than dealing with Josh. It's not acceptable to treat people this way. Two women working there were immediately rude to me and acted like I was lying when I told them the guy that works there let me get my package with ONLY my ID two weeks prior. “Yes only one guy works here we know who it is and he would never do that” etc. Just very unprofessional I understand they deal with rude people all day but I was not rude or impatient etc. for them to act that way. Then she started going on a finger pointing lecture with me for some reason so I decided to just walk away because I had already had a long day at work and then she just gets louder as I left and continued talking practically yelling toward me. Everyone at this post office has been helpful and friendly. Because most of this town doesn't have delivery service, you'll have to either rent a PO box (there is a waitlist) or you can send packages to yourself by general delivery. FYI the post office must send packages back as undeliverable if you don't do one of these things.

Personally, when I'm in town I use a delivery address that is: My Name GENERAL DELIVERY Fairplay, CO 80440

This will get my packages to me 99% of the time - UPS and FedEx deliver to my physical street address. When someone ships USPS, it'll end up at the post office, which has accepted my packages as general delivery for me to pick up within a couple weeks.
