You place a deposit of 50% and then go home to fantasize about it for the next 4-6 months (these hats are popular and handmade just for you, so be patient). When it is done, you come back for a fitting. Smitty makes any adjustments needed to make the hat perfectly fit your funky noggin. We picked up the hat on a pretty windy and cold day, and it stayed solidly in place and was nice and warm to wear.

My son and I were in FairPlay for the Burro Festival and we decided to check out their shop. I saw the many signs that warned that children should NOT touch the hats! So I explained that to my son and he understood. These are gorgeous hats (works of art). My son is Autistic and doesn’t understand social cues so he speaks what’s on his mind and leads a lot of his social interactions with humor. That being said, he went up to Cherie and questioned the no touching signs by asking, “is it because kids are wild, crazy and messy”? Huge smile on his face. Well Cherie did not like this and met my son’s humor with hatred and anger and told him, “ I never said that. GET OUT OF MY STORE. No one talks to me like that!” I couldn’t believe it!! My son is 11! I questioned if she was serious and then she kicked me out too! WARNING: if you have have autistic/special needs children (children in general) DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE!!! You will be met with scorn, hatred, discrimination, and bigotry!!!! What a horrible interaction in an otherwise lovely town! Find your hat...
