I don't like to leave bad reviews and usually don't, but the room we stayed in had bed bugs and I now have an infestation in my apartment. We called the hotel 10 days after our check-out date to notify them of the situation and ask for reimbursement, but they said that it was too late to let them know and that there was nothing they could do. Bed bug removal is a MASSIVE pain and quite expensive, so I thought it would be only fair to offer a refund and am shocked that they were unwilling. I found a bed bug in my hotel bed in the morning when I woke up (room #20) and took a picture of it in case it became an issue. We would have notified the hotel that morning, but we left for a hike at 5am and the office was not open then. I checked all of my bags as thoroughly as possible and didn't find anything, so I hoped it wouldn't become an issue (but clearly I missed some and now I have a horrible problem). It took about a week before I realized there was a problem and since then, I have woken up each day with more and more bites. I have also spent hours cleaning and vacuuming and washing and spraying everything I own and have now spent a lot of money on products to try to get rid of them. Also, the walls of our room were paper thin. We probably would have struggled to sleep had we not had ear plugs with us. We heard the people next door banging and clanking things all night, but also heard conversation and zippers and things that you wouldn't normally expect to hear though a standard wall... Otherwise, the hotel looked fairly nice. The bathrooms were decently sized and the room had a microwave and minifridge. The hotel was also willing to take our late and last-minute booking, which I do appreciate. However, all of this is far overshadowed by our negative experiences, namely the bed bugs.

THIS PLACE HAS BED BUGS. Stayed here one night. Didn’t see the bed bug until we were about to check out in the morning. It was crawling on the wall. Our friend got multiple bites on his back. Instead of having a relaxing weekend we now have to take all the necessary precautions to make sure they don’t get into our homes, which involves throwing away EVERYTHING that can’t be washed or dryed in a machine. We stayed in room 43 and were only in the motel for about 8 hrs total. There are other reviews with people having the same issue and this motel doesn’t seem to be doing anything about it or warning guests. DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU WANT BED BUGS.

Great place to stay, Holly went way beyond in taking care of our small dog when we were out one day. Rooms are nice sized, chairs were nice to use for eating at the table. Microwave, stove top, and frig made it easy to cook and eat several of our meals in the room. You do need special labs to use for the stove top, but Holly has then available for a deposit. If ever back out that way, we'll probably stay there!

I booked and made a reservation for King bed back in July 2024. This particular motel hasn't really the best since the changed of ownership back in 2015. I'm just curious on what's the development or update. We checked in at 2pm, didn't leave our luggage but instead went to Breckenridge to see the Great Duck Race. We arrived in Breckenridge at 3pm, then had a late late lunch because we need to check each and every resto which were actually full at that time because of the event. Finally, we picked Whiskey Star Smokehouse at 4pm (then done eating at 5pm, got receipt as proof). Then walked around to see and checked stores, checked Cookie Shop for some Huckleberry Ice Cream at 6pm (with a receipt also). We drove back to Fairplay and got our suitcases inside the room, arranged our clothes and food items in the fridge. Hubby asked me what I think about the situation of the bed (disarray pillows and the cover looks like somebody laid down on it). I said : yep, looks like somebody has been here to sleep or laid down and was not cleaned either. Ok, fine, hubby said. Because he's the one going to lay on that side (ride side of the bed). Hubby continued to mess with the TV but not successful. No internet to cable!!! When I was taking out our toiletries, I noticed a "used face towel" by the sink. And a "used towel on the floor". Trash cans have 4 empty cans of beer and a coffee package. Coffee maker still have the used coffee bag. And asked him to look at the garbage can, too! I asked hubby to look at the items on the floor because I threw everything on the floor! I'm pissed!! Hubby went to the office and we were transferred to a 2 Queen bed (he was told that we will not be charged! Hello! It's not our fault!!!!!). I put everything back in the suitcase and cooler. Moved everything to a different room across the building. Hubby was even told by the Manager maybe we went inside after checking in (!!!). So now here's the BAD SIDE with this 2 Queen Beds: TV doesn't work, not even regular channel, no internet/no cable, microwave doesn't work and even have uneven bottom that I need to put an empty cardboard box from store bought microwavable food to even out because it's wiggling every time I touch it, bathroom exhaust fan doesn't work, the bathtub itself were filthy with dried shaved red hair sticking on the wall (I'm black haired and hubby have gray hair) !!!!!!! My GOD! We end up bringing home the food we bought from the store because we can't use the microwave. Bought pastries from the grocery! We promised that we will NEVER EVER come back again in this motel. Hispanic people were loud, even though they're just talking and we were trying to take a nap. This is a TRASH CAN place. STAY OUT!!!! Zero for Value, Zero for tech & improvement, Zero for Customer Service, Zero...

Thanks to a heavy blizzard causing zero visibility we were forced to stay in town. This was with in feet of where we lost visibility or would have gone elsewhere. They a little run down from the parking area. Its all open and ground floor so you are able to park in front of your room. The room uses an old fashioned key. Remember to keep in your pocket i locked myself out a couple times. It is obviously pet and baby friendly since we heard barking and a baby cry all night long. It is more of an extended stay housing because it had a microwave, mini fridge, coffee pot, double kitchen sink and cabinets. There is two queen sized beds, desk of sorts, full size dresser, kitchen table and chairs. It even has heat lamps in the bathroom and a sky light over the kitchen area. Also you get a large window allowing a clear view of the parking lot. However this placed charged 112 for the room. We get in and find no towels. There was used soap in the shower and a tiny sample soap that was open. A bible in the the drawer and a small ketchup bottle with dish soap. The tv had no volume. There was half roll of 1 ply toilet paper. The nasty coffee pot smelled like sewage water. We found a couple packs of decaf for the coffee pot. The counters were stained with coffee. They posted a sign above the towel rack where towels should have been but non were anywhere to be found. Check out was supposed to be at 11 however the knocking started at 7:02 am to see if i was still in the room. Then again at 7:13 am and again before 8 am. This was a horrible way to start my day. This place is a rip off. It let my family and i feeling like a scary movie was taking place and we were the next victims. I dont recommend getting stuck in this town or the motel. The cherry on top was the envelope for us to tip the...
