I wanted what appears to be a deck of classic Pokemon cards, the originals from 1999, it was labeled as partially sealed with a firm price of $69 ($74 out the door) and when the woman came to help me at the locked cabinet she asked what I wanted and I told her the box of Pokémon cards from 1999, which was wedged between boxes of newer, bigger sets of the cards which I’m not interested in. The label said partially sealed (it was opened once but had the torn plastic wrap on it still) I asked her how I would know the cards are in the taped up bag/ box and she told me to shake it so I did, she said the sound I heard was the cards in there. She took it to the register and told me to meet one of the other ladies at the counter who could help me. The woman at the register asked what I wanted and I pointed saying “the trading cards she just put on the counter” in reply the woman at the register raised her voice a bit to where the other 5-6 customers in the store at the time could hear her saying “Pokémon trading cards!” She then charged me up and removed a tiny white tag (about the size of a dime) from a string on the bagged box and placed the tiny tag behind the counter. Once I paid $74 at the register I opened the box while going out the door and immediately turned around through the entry door because it was not filled with Pokémon cards, but clear empty plastic sleeves and a crumpled up piece of paper! I went right back to the counter and even though the box has a large sticker on it that says it’s a deck box of original WOTC(original printers of the American cards), one of the ladies pulled up the tag they removed that specified card sleeves, contrary to the huge tag provided to me in the photo. This labeling is intentionally misleading and the only right thing to do would be a full refund in exchange for the originally mislabeled product but they refused, even though I hadn’t left yet and they thought they were cards too! I am extremely upset at the fact that the staff was unable to do what would have...

The Livingston Eagles of the hardwood court were a force to reckoned with in the 1940s through the 1970s. Ten District titles and six Regional titles were won in the years between 1938-39 and 1976-77!! Unfortunately this is the current extent of the information we have available on the program. Team records and coach's names are being sought.
The current gymnasium was built in 1949, and before that, basketball games were held in the school's basement gymnasium. In the 1920s, admission was reported to be 35 cents for adults and 20 cents for children.
An article found in the 1947 Greenville High School yearbook had this to say about the Livingston HS boys beating Greenville in the championship of the 1947 Regional: "Friday night was the thrill game of the tourney, a see-saw battle in which neither team led by more than five points. Moving into a 10-8 first quarter lead, hopes ran high among local fans, and the half saw us still holding a two-point lead, 17-15. Schmollinger kept up his torrid pace in the third, but Livingston was beginning to click. In the final frame, Livingston caught up for the first time and with two quick lay-in shots sewed up the game, 37-32. However, no one will say the Flyers didn't do their best. It was just one good team losing to another." Submitted by Mark Jurenga

Read moreWe are on a short vacation, antiquing from Springfield to Marion Illinois. We went out of our way to go to St Claire Antique Mall, and got there 10 minutes before closing. I realize the employees want to go home on time, but the doors were all locked when we got there at 10 til so presumably they lock up 15 mins before closing? We could see people inside so we waited at the exit to see if they would let us look around if we promised to leave at closing time. The employee was extremely obnoxious to us, but did let us look around. My husband and I split up and walked through the business rapidly and still finished before their 4 pm closing time and were given dirty looks upon leaving. How did it adversely affect them to let us shop their posted hours? I texted my sister in law who lives in O'Fallon, not...
