Today I received the WORST customer service. I was approached by an associate in the children’s department as I was shopping. She was trying to get me to apply for a credit card to get an additional discount- I politely declined. She moved on to a customer near by with the same offer- he also declined. As I reached the register I made sure to get in line on the side of the que with the arrow (a little background- just last week I was in line on the opposite side of the arrow, directly behind a customer at register and was passed over by the cashier because I was on the wrong side). There was a lady who was on the opposite (wrong) side of the que, she was helped first by the same cashier who, a week before, allowed another women to go in front of me. The sales associate who was soliciting credit cards on the sales floor then came up with a women with a arm full of merchandise, she had accepted her offer of applying for a credit card, the associate began to ring her out as I watched from the line. The other cashier and I both looked on in disbelief as she boldly and quite snidely rang the customer up before me. The other cashier finishing up with her customer- called for the next customer (me). There was no apology offered, no mention of my wait. I poliety set down my merchandise and let the cashier know I no longer wanted to make a purchase. I should have gotten their names- but I hope management is able to recognize them from the descriptions below:
Sales Associate selling credit cares on the floor: young black women with braids
Cashier: older white women Both work in the children’s department on Saturday, May 5...
Read moreToday Saturday February 17th 2024 3:30pm. We wenthrough Jc Penny on our way out of the mall in Fairview Heights IL, just to do some last minute browsing on the way back to our car. Walking through we went to the mens clothing section on the lower level and saw all the clearenced items. We came across the racks in the center of the isle on the way up to the checkout counter / exit of JC Penny and saw they had mens jackets on clearence and marked down to $49.95. There was a big sign on the rack that even said $49.95, when we went to buy 2 of the jackets we were told we had to pay the sticker price on one of the jackets for $75. JC Penny tried the old bait and switch sales tactic, and no matter what the sale sign said, would not honor it. This is poor customer service. If you have items on a clearance section with a big sign that says $49.95, you should honor it. So we put it back, and bought just the 1 jacket. It was a mens wrangler jacket they had marked down. So either you need to get people to mark stuff correctly or at least honor what your consumer is telling and showing you. That's bad business. I have been a long time shopper there but think I'll stick the basement sales at Macy's. They have never...
Read moreHuge variety of choices to shop for though it seems the clothing choices are more specific to the older generation. I used to be able to find clothing that I liked in the juniors and also an area for young women, but now it seems that it is more focused on an older generation. As far as the fit and choices. I found some things there that I absolutely loved, but of course they did not have them for a athletic large frame. The only things I were able to find, I had to completely improvise with other selections which required me purchasing numerous items just to make one outfit work. On the upside I was able to get a good deal on biolage hair shampoo and conditioner as well as find out they still have a photo studio to get family pictures etc... The staff was very kind and accommodating though they were not able to assist me because I had a specific look in mind for wearing...
