The experience itself was enjoyable for my almost 2 year old.
I will say, I think that the toys that require batteries should all be charged or have batteries that work so that they are able to be used to their full capacity. That was inconvenient. There were dinosaurs, light cubes, and other battery-operated toys that were unusable because of this factor.
Also, I did not notice any physical monitoring by staff. Video monitoring was evident. I think that the staff should do run throughs periodically to clean up and organize for newcomers. Many rooms were disheveled and we were confused as to how to play with certain things.
The interactive sandbox was ominous and we were unsure of how it was supposed to be interactive apart from the sand itself.
The art room was trashed and not appropriate for our daughter. There should be more toddler oriented crafting options.
The air compressing ball tunnel was broken. Looked interesting. But we were let down.
Overall, the staff was kind. The price is inexpensive. Most rooms were enjoyable and well-stocked, others need a good update.
This place has potential to be better. Just fix the broken things, update some of the rooms, make sure everything that is provided can be used to its full potential, and staff should be actively organizing rooms after they are played in. Sure, parent should teach their children to clean up. But, staff should be...
Read moreThis museum was a gem! We hosted our 4 year old's birthday party there in September. It was our first visit. We had heard about it from a friend. I called and the staff was super friendly on the phone. I didn't get a chance to visit prior to the party but every time I called to get information or to understand how the logistics work, the staff was so friendly and helpful. The day of the party, we came 30 minutes early with all the supplies and foods. The room is BIG and we needed that for the number of guests we had. Every other venue was expensive. I am so thankful for a place like this that offers families an affordable space to host a party and it is clean and beautiful and so fun! And a huge parking lot. The manager was very nice. The staff were all kind. Hannah was particularly amazing and kept checking in and answering my questions. The kids had a great time. There's so much to do indoors AND outdoors. I highly recommend the Children's Museum of Greater Fall River for playdates and especially for...
Read moreThe museum is a great use of a prior public building. It did seem geared toward younger children, which was great for my toddler. It is a nice escape from the heat in the summer time. There is also an outdoor play area. Loved the musical toys available. However, the teeter totter was very tattered and could be replaced. Maybe some local grants would be a benefit for this type of update.
Our only major complaint, was a smell of weed on the first floor after we came back in from the outdoor area. Personally, we don’t care what people do in their home, but there are kids there! Additionally, some adults have jobs where they’re regularly tested and cannot risk being around that. When we confronted an employee she said there wasn’t much they could do about it because it’s legal. After the fact, I looked up the law and “…you cannot consume marijuana in any form in public or on federal land.” So this situation was disappointing. Otherwise, wouldn’t mind going back if this wouldn’t be an issue and my job...
