I am a Cabela’s club member, and today my wife and kids and I went in to spend over $200 in Cabela’s Club Points and my Christmas gift cards at the Farmington, Utah location. We have to wear mask to protect my wife against COVID because my wife has pre-existing medical conditions. I don’t mind if other people wear a mask, I think that is their choice, and I’m not interested in the politics of it. But the two employees at the Cabela’s Club signup booth ignored and the mocked us when we walked by them with our mask on. I know this because we could hear them talking about our masks which was none of their business frankly. I told my wife let’s just get our snow boots that we wanted and then we would just not come back to this location. Then we went to the shoe department and started shopping, we talked to a very nice customer their who suggested some nice boots he liked. Curtis was the clerk in the department, we were there for 26 minutes while Curtis greeted every customer around us except us, finally I said “excuse me could I get some help with some boots?” And Curtis ignored me and went on to greet and help the gentleman right next to us. My wife thought the best of the situation and thought that it might just be some confusion and asked Curtis for help and he walked right by her and greeted a new customer again while ignoring us. Finally I decided we were just going to leave and I would come back later by myself to spend the points. Then as we walked past the fishing department an employee walked by and said “nice masks” to us. My kids were with me for goodness sake. You wanna mock me that’s fine, but we were just trying to keep my wife safe while we shopped. This made me think to look into Cabela’s mask policy, I never cared before but clearly this location has strong feelings about it, and the Cabela’s website states that all store employees are supposed to wear masks. No one at this location was wearing one. I welcome the Cabela’s team at this location to please review the security tape from 12:45pm to 1:20pm if they don’t believe it. You can see Curtis speaking to everyone else and not us in the shoe department. I will be bringing this to the attention of the appropriate people and organizations to bring some awareness to Cabela and this locations feelings about the treatment of their customers and how they do not follow the safety guidelines that their own company advertises. I will be canceling my Cabela’s Card silver card and taking all my hunting and outdoor...
Read moreHad one of the most negative experiences I have ever had with any Cabela's. This includes visiting many from east to west coast and as far as Alaska. My plan was to purchase a new listed firearm that I have searched many locations and years for. I seen the item listed freshly as compared to previously checking in the morning. Called the gun counter in excess of 23 times. Never a single answer from the counter to even be put on hold or transferred to the gun library. Spoke with 3 separate customer service representatives. All were helpful. First two redirected me to gun library as requested. No answer, initially redirected back to customer service as unable to leave any call back information due to mailbox not activated. Then later found to be full. Both stated item I inquired about was still available. Both walked my number and inquiry back to gun library and stated they would call me back when available. Second stating that there was an inquire into the firearm earlier (I updated her on my initial inquiry time and they stated it aligned with my earlier call). Third customer service representative then later checked (this is about 7 hours after initial inquiry) and stated that item was no longer listed. You can say I was persistent and maybe a burden. But after reading reviews of this stores gun counter I did not have a lot of faith in things being orderly. So in excess of 23 calls before I think they just discarded my information. Determination, persistence and timely does not mean anything I believe when interacting with this specific location. I have dealt with many of the library's and this is by far the most negative of all experiences. I even attempted to follow up call today. No answer and no reply. No return calls. I believe that Cabelas needs to improve upon their library listings and that it should be a first come first serve basis. Not when it's only convenient for someone to be able to actually answer the phone when it only...
Read moreAs someone with an almost unreasonable love for jerky, my visit to Cabela's turned into a safari through the Serengeti of the snack world. Picture this: a rugged adventurer lost in an ocean of camping gear, fishing tackle, and hunting equipment, but laser-focused on one thing - jerky.
First, I stumbled upon the exotic section, where I encountered a diverse array of species I never knew had been immortalized in jerky form. I tip my adventurer's hat to you, ostrich jerky! You have the texture of beef, but with a whisper of birdish wilderness that ignited my wanderlust. Gator jerky, you’re a swampy mix of salty, chewy, and let's not forget - terrifyingly delicious!
Next was the pilgrimage to the domestic section. Traditional beef jerky stood proudly, like an old friend waiting to embrace me with open arms and a smoky aftertaste. There was teriyaki, peppered, hickory, and even jalapeno, each flavor ready to whisk me away on a savory journey.
Then I ventured into the uncharted territory of the innovative flavors. Habanero mango, I see you there, sizzling on the edge of adventurous tongues, straddling the line between fiery spice and tropical sweetness. Blueberry bourbon beef jerky, you're the bootlegged prize of this joint - meat and liquor united in chewy matrimony.
The best part? This whole trip wasn't wallet-ruining. The prices were reasonable enough to turn even the thriftiest of jerky enthusiasts into a kid in a jerky candy store.
In conclusion, if you're ever in need of outdoor gear, you could probably find something at Cabela's. But let's not kid ourselves, we know why we're really here. If the jerky aisle had a check-in counter, I'd have frequent flyer status by now. To all my fellow jerky-loving explorers, pack your appetites, because Cabela's is your Everest. So tighten those hiking boots and get ready for a chewy adventure...
