Sea Shell City, Inc — Attraction in Fenwick Island

We come here every year on our visits to the beach. We have always enjoyed the variety of shells, souvenirs and gifts. The museum upstairs has some amazing things in there that we enjoy looking at . The staff has always been friendly and courteous to us. This year they went above and beyond for us. My seven-year-old daughter had purchased a bracelet at Sea Shell City that she really loved. Wore it everyday from then after, during our stay in Ocean City. While we were driving back home (about 1 hour in) she looked down and realized the bracelet wasn't any longer on her wrist. Though we are not positive what happened, she thinks she might have put it on the door handle of the bathroom when she was washing her hands in the rental condo, before we left for home. She was very upset and wanted us to turn around to look for it. For many reasons at that time, we couldn't do that. When we returned home we did some searching through luggage and stuff, just in case, it didn't turn up. My husband called down to Sea Shell City and asked if he could order the same bracelet for my daughter, and if they would be willing to ship it to us and we would pay for all of it. Instead at least one person we know for sure that was involved was Jackie and she located the bracelet put it in an envelope and mailed it to my daughter, without charging us anything. It was incredibly kind, and made my daughter so excited when she opened the package and was surprised to see her bracelet. Since we received it in the mail she is wearing the bracelet every single day! We are thankful for their kindness and always giving us a pleasurable shopping...

I ordered 'polished abalone' shells. From the picture they looked like the natural colors that had been polished. I was sent mother of pearl colored and the shells were broken. I immediately called and had them send me a replacement shipment. The lady on the phone also stated that I could keep the shells since one of them was completely broken in half. A few hours later I received an email saying 'sorry you're client didn't like the shell' um no, don't blame me or my client for you mix up. Then I have to return the shells after I was told I could keep them. Then the replacement shells were nothing like the picture they have on the website. Needless to say I will not be ordering from here again, let alone recommend this shell store to any of my mermaid friends.

Update* I was allowed to keep the broken shells and given a refund. I uped the stars but given the mix up I will still not be...

I know that most people have no clue about Hermit Crabs and buy a few for the kids only to be flushed a few weeks later when they die. I love these little guys and I have 2 tanks. They are incredible and each have their own personality. I witnessed something in the store today that was cruel and I left pretty angry. Someone wanted to buy 10 of the babies and she wanted ones that were moving. The employee picked up hands full of them and threw them in the water to make them move. Those little guys are already living in horrible conditions as it is. Please DO NOT buy these sweet little guys until you do your research and learn how to take care of them. They are still living, breathing creatures that deserve...
