Beware Fisherman. We were on the Flagler Beach Pier Fl. today doing guess what fishing cuz hey ya know that's what we paid to do when a surfer swam by right in front of the pier my 16 yr old son cast his line. The surfer yelled he was calling the cops and when they came they were going to charge him with assault for fishing from the pier. The surfer however wasn't even warned about being in the mo swim zone by the pier. The officer said he believed us but had to act on the "victims" (who was never touched) behalf. We were told the surfer wouldn't press charges if we left the pier ( which we had paid to be on) so we left. The people who fish there all the time and the very nice gentleman that runs the pier say they always have problems with the surfers yet we were asked to leave not the surfer. So i wouldn't pay to fish there cuz the nonpaying surfers have all the rights. The officer even suggested we go up the coast to surf fish where there arent people well we dont have license in Fl. The surfers were not asked to go surf up the coast where there are no fisherman. Don't worry little surfer dude what goes around comes around and one day maybe soon you'll get what's...
Read moreGreat fishing experience!! I there is a fee of $6 for fishing and a smaller fee per rod. If you just want to take in the sights it's $1.50 per person. The best part is you catch really good fishes and the pier is not too crowded. You can clean what you catch before you take it home. If you hate the sun no problem there is about four places to avoid the sun come early and snatch one. Seating is also provided. The parking is really close to the Beach and the pier. Lots of places to shop and dine as well. Overall one of the best experience fishing ever! My hubby caught a good size red fish and a sheep head but everyone else was bagging other fish as well. We even saw a 4 foot shark being pulled out. The pier is a bit shaky towards the end other than that awsome. If surfing is your thing they have that also....there is something for everyone!! No...
Read moreI wish all the piers were free. I just do. So a star off for not being free. But as far as the rest goes - the water and and is breathtaking. The cinnamon sand and turquoise water - very beautiful. Very windy (which the pier worker said was the same every day) was nice but also a bit much. It was not relaxing at all - the water was very rough and some of the waves came up almost to the road! No way could you lay and chill or let your little ones play. Maybe it was just that day? My favorite thing was how unique it was - I had seen the color in photo. But figured it was filters - i didn't expect it to be so vivid and beautiful in person. No filters needed here! Truly beautiful and unique. A beautiful contrast to the Caribbean blue water and white sand on Anna Maria island or white sand and emerald sea...
