I had a beyond horrible experience here and would give negative stars if possible. Cheap yes. Better than sleeping in your car, yes. Thats it. The pool was closed by the local health department-did not know until after check in. The front desk guy did not mention this at all when I checked in even after I mentioned I had my family with me for a weekend beach trip expecting ocean and pool time. I asked for the best room possible as I known it's an older property. I do not mind older nostalgic beach rentals and mentioned that as well. As long as its clean for me and my family, we would be happy. That is not what we got. I mentioned I wanted the cleanest room and was happy to upgrade as nessicary and was suggested a specific room. The desk person even mentioned they have 4 housekeepers and use clorox every day- I was absolutely lied to. Arriving to the room and found the worst stale smelling rooms I have ever experienced ever in my life. We were a bit surprised at the lack of safety and care taken in the room. My kids were excited to visit the beach so we went straight down to the beach for the remainder of the afternoon in the ocean. Upon back in the room, the smell was worse-it was overall filth and disgusting carpet that was a smack in the face at first and then the rest of the smells of the room were even worse . I had brought my own cleaning supplies as a traveling mom and wiped down all handles, light switches ect bc of the kids and how they navigate a space. I then discovered the bathtub would not drain at all, which we needed very much after the ocean and sand everywhere. Further inspection of the room, we discovered holes in the wall, outlet plates not secured, and the stove was burnt to high heaven from what I have no idea from. This room was not safe, the more I examined it. The whole place continued to smell worse and worse even after I wiped so much down. The chairs appeared to have NEVER been wiped down and been in there for many decades. The level of grease and filth that I wiped and experienced was unbelievable. I would have left immediately, except my family needed to sleep a few hours. Needless to say, we had a few hour nap with the worst anxiety as a mom from such filth around us, and then we left before the sun was up and out of there forever. To be clear, I absolutely love old Florida beach rentals, and I collect antiques and expected an older beach property to stay at, that was CLEAN AND SAFE...and it was anything but that. The owner has complete negligence and does not know what clean is nor do the housekeepers and no one there has ever had a relationship with clorox bleach. Which by the way, while I had the doors open for a while to air it out, several of the staff around the property kept passing the room in a strange manor and looking in like we were trespassers or criminals. It felt very strange and invasive for no reason at all. We weren't loud or anything of the sort, we were a tired family after an afternoon atcthe beach. This place has potential as a oceanfront property but needs to be severely overhauled in management with a particular focus on health and safety and sanitation. Otherwise it needs to be gutted and torched to the ground. I will never go back and will never recommend this place to anyone. Any good reviews are from people who do not understand or care about cleanliness, health, or safety. I have experience for over 25 years in property management and was a housekeeper for many years in the past as well, & this level of grossness I would have fired someone. This place has no standard at all. They do not care what they present to the public. The management has wilful negligence and just making money off people when possible. Some pictures included below but really do no justice to what I experienced.

We booked through an online booking site where you select the star rating, and they select the hotel. So, we didn't know about this place before the room was booked. For a $60 a night room, I can't complain much. They don't need a credit card or deposit at check-in. The office is in an old house with a nice pool in front of it. We were on the second floor and beach front with amazing ocean views--the sounds of the Atlantic roaring outside the window were very soothing. The room was fairly clean and didn't smell of anything (no smoke, pet smells, or heavy perfumes). The mini fridge and microwave were both clean and worked as they should. There were extra towels, soaps, and toilet paper in the bathroom, and the toilet seemed new (although the shower ran a steady stream of water all night long). The sheets were clean, and the ac worked well. It came with an ironing board and iron that looked pretty old (but we didn't try to use them). The place does have free wifi that is pretty reliable. The bed isn't the most comfortable, and the pillows were way too small, but the hotel itself was within walking distance of a lot of neat restaurants and amenities. They do not offer breakfast, and the guy working the desk was apologetic when we told him the booking agency said they did. Overall, you get what you pay for, and with the price we paid we got a pretty safe nights stay close to some great fishing.

While the couple running the front desk were lovely and the folks staying in the motel were friendly, I think this is designed for families wanting a beach vacation on a budget. While the sheets and towels were fresh and the room smelled clean, there were several negatives that you’ll want to consider before staying here. The remodeled bathroom was comfortable, but both evenings I saw about 10 tiny baby water bugs/roaches next to the shower area. It’s Florida, so motels have to take extra caution to keep them out. The room was nicely cooled but I don’t think the A/C dehumidified, so it was very humid and the carpeting felt sticky most of the time. There was a random hole in the wall and the lock on the door felt loose which made me nervous except I had my dog with me. The motel is adjacent to a really delicious restaurant, but for water or snacks, they keep nothing nearby or on hand for purchase: you’ll drive to Publix. The pool is right next to a busy, noisy road and access to the beach is a short walk down the road since two of the closer walkways/steps were closed off due to damage. The motel is an easy walk to restaurants, the pier, ice cream and parks so it’s a good location for leaving your car behind. Which, you’ll want to do because the parking lot isn’t big enough for all the cars. The motel has a lot of potential if more care was taken.

Booked for Friday and Saturday night in December, to do a quick trip for the weekend, as we were doing a yard sale for my in-laws. Their house was empty, so I thought it to be more comfortable at a little motel, and a fun little staycation on the side. I wanted something on or close to the beach, and since it was booked last minute (the day before) my options were limited, at least on booking.com. (I found out later driving by other motels, that I had better, cuter options). I will keep this in mind in the future.

I called ahead the night before and let the office attendant know that I would be arriving separately from my partner, and to please let him in the room if he arrived before me, in which he did. They let him up, but immediately called me to ask where I was, and if I could hurry to arrive so they could swipe my credit card. I understood from a business stand point, but from a tired disabled customer driving 4 hours to get there at 8pm, I thought this was a little rude as I insured them on the first phone call I had no problem leaving my card info over the phone. It must have been a different person to call me asking for my arrival time who didn’t have the message related. This left me with a sense of urgency as well as mistrust and it wasn’t a great way to start the weekend. Upon arrival I drove straight to the office to give my card. The attendant spoke poor English, which made it difficult to understand. I did not receive directions to my room or any other info, had to ask for a receipt as well.

The room was lack luster. Clean, but not clean at the same time. Appliances and fixings were very outdated. I have a lung disease and several other comorbidities. I asked if the rooms were safe and clean before booking, which I was told yes. I stuck it out as it was only for 2 nights, but wasn’t very comfortable. Had to call for extra pillows, as our king bed only came with 2. The lock on the door was busted, and rusted. I had medication in the refrigerator, so I called that morning and requested no cleaning service or staff to enter my room for the day. Upon leaving, I drove by and saw my door wide open, with 2 women inside in which I assume were there to clean. I had the do not disturb on my door, but prior to leaving, a woman knocked on my door at 8am to clean. I was already up at 6:30am due to noisy neighbors outside talking loudly. I said “no thank you, I do not need service at all today.”. That’s 2 times to 2 separate people I asked for no one to enter my room, this was to keep my personal medication and belongings safe and peace of mind. I called upon driving by to which I was told they would leave.

On Saturday afternoon I arrived back at the motel to sit outside and enjoy a book after working the yard sale. I noticed that the neighbor (who woke us up at 6:30am) was outside with his door kicked open. He was walking in and out to smoke cigarettes watching a football game. There were other guests inside, then 2 visited him outside his door for a few minutes to which I overheard him say that he was infected with COVID and was there to quarantine. He had his door open, with other guests inside? No masks. Standing less than 4 feet away from me. I quickly ran inside and was upset, due to being high risk, and coming here with the hope of being safe and able to relax.

I called the office staff and told them about the neighbors. I was disheartened and felt unsafe. Nothing was done. We left as soon as the sun rose the next morning. It was an awful experience all around, and I don’t recommend this place. Due to my requests not being respected, and allowing guests infected with covid to roam mask free around the property putting...

There was a panty liner that goes in the bottom of a swimsuit stuck on the back of the bathroom door. Mold all over in the bathroom. The tiles in the room were slick from residue from the fabuloso. We put down towels as stepping stones in the room because our feet were black on the bottom from the filth. No comforter, only a thin silky sheet. The air conditioner leaked water on the tile floor, again, we left towels sitting on the floor for that. The ironing board was stained up and had holes in it. The bathroom mirror was filthy. The sink also had mold and filth. There were crumbs and trash left from the previous renters on the floor. Every single day, we had to walk to the front desk to get new keys because they quit working. We called to have them bring us a new key, and on the 2nd day, he hung up on us and wouldn't answer the phone, saying "You're not my only customer." We walked to the front desk after that, every. Single. Day. For new keys. He told us it was because we put the keys beside our phones, when we would literally carry it straight from the desk and nowhere near our phones. The pool was rocky like someone said in their review. The view/location is nice, but that is it! The toilet wobbled when you sat down and the bathroom smelled like mold. The drapes were hanging by a few threads. This is a 1 star or less motel, it has the potential to be really nice if they put money into it and remodeled it or tore the motel down and built a new one, only because of the location. The baseboards were filthy, like others have posted, that is exactly how they look. The bathroom vanity area had been DIY remodeled by someone who had youtubed how to do it. I wouldnt set my toothbrush down around the sink how nasty it was. The Ceiling had been repaired with sheetrock, but never mudded back over to match the rest of the texturized ceilings. The light fixtures had holes around them larger than the fixtures, those also looked DIYed. The towels were the mini size for drying off....
